I have a 2012 Audi A5 2.0T TFSI engine. Figured I’d get by with a cheaper cam bracket after rebuilding an engine. Wish I hadn’t. The rubber seal is too thin for the channel and it leaks like crazy. Bought an OEM seal, made sure the N205 valve was sealed at the correct torque specs according to Audi (35Nm), made zero difference. It’s not the upper timing cover as I’ve replaced it twice with the housing and gaskets and it still continues to leak in the same place. Right under the Cam magnet. Ended up having to purchase the OEM one anyways. If it works for you, then I’m really happy for you. But it didn’t for me. ... show more

As a shop owner i am always leery of cheap parts, This camshaft is a prime example, we bought this to try and save the customer some money, instead it has cost the shop $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$,, In less than 8,000 miles (5 months) the car was back in the shop because of a hard skip on #2cyl during check we found #2 cyl with no compression and on tear down and inspection we found the lobes on #2cyl had moved on the cam.. A very bad design and a very bad cam it has now cost my shop about $1500 in towing an repair of said vehicle. I do not recommend anyone purchasing this product ... show more

    • Head installed for 6 weeks and it failed

I installed this part and it fixed my problem. But no more than 6 weeks later the unit developed an oil leak internally which shorted out the magnet and caused the check engine light to come on. Unable to return product because Amazon will not let me return the product past 30 days. I guess sometimes it's not good to find the cheapest part. Too bad I'm unable to get a replacement part shipped out. ... show more

My old cam was going out so I guess to avoid the $700 for a good one I chose this because things were tight. Put it in and the problem was worse. I was being hopeful but even the cam showed signs of poor quality. Had marks on it as if someone used a vise grips on it but over all waste of time.
