  • Great smoke
I’ve had a camp chef smoker for about 5 years. Almost no issues from it except very light smoke flavor. I’ve been researching the woodwind pro for some time and finally took the dive. Very glad I ended up purchasing. It was delivered within a few days and setting it up was easy. Detailed instructions with decent pictures for each step. The hardware is also bagged up and labeled for each step. Moving the assembled smoker is super easy as it’s on four casters. Initial set up and burn in was also very easy. The app is very easy to use. I’ve made several trip tips, pork butts and ribs on it. The smoke box difference is huge. But it’s also a bit of a learning curve. There’s a balance between smoke settings and wood chunks that hast to be just right. Too much smoke ruins bbq in my opinion. Overall I’ve been extremely pleased with the smoker. ... show more

  • Great Pellet Grill
This thing came nicely packaged. There was no shipping damage. Assembly was somewhat easy, the pictures could have been better (no words, after all who reads them)! Had a little trouble with a few steps until I figured out the picture. The temp is off by up to 20 degrees at time. Might be due to placement of the temp sensor at one side of the grill against the wall high up. Has temp probs so I use them for a better temp at my item. Grills and smokes awesome! Love the ability to add real wood chips to help implant the smokey flavor. I recommend this grill. ... show more

  • Bad Quality Control
Don't know about how good this product works. I couldn't get past step 3 of assembly. I would think better care would be taken considering how much this product cost. Looks like the wrong mount was welded in the wrong spot.

  • Manufacturer Quality Control issue - Manufacturer Steps Up
The Woodwind Pro 36 arrived with a manufacturer defect. The inside of the grill was dented where one of the legs attach. This made it so you couldn't screw on all four bolts of the upper leg. While I would have gotten out a sledge hammer tried to straighten out things enough to get the leg on etc. I didn't want to do that and possibly break a weld etc.... I reached out to Camp Chef they said I had to return it to Pattern. I start the return process and pattern send me a label to send it back to Camp Chef, but I have to pay! What? I have to pay to send back a defective product that crazy! After communication with Pattern they said they would cover the shipping if Camp Chef didn't , but then Camp Chef Stepped up in a big way! ... show more

  • Fantastic smoker
A lot of people say pellet grills don’t get great smoke but we have had amazing food from all of our cooks so far and in our first attempt, made some of the best ribs I’ve ever had. The smoke box for wood chunks really makes a difference in being able to customize your smoke flavors and help develop a deeper bark and more intense smoke flavor. Cannot recommend this grill enough. Don’t hesitate to get one if you are on the fence. ... show more

  • BUYER BEWARE!
I have a Camp Chef grill, and will just cut to the chase. The temperature probes are terrible, and you have to buy aftermarket probes. The temperature module is also of terrible quality (not accurate) and you will have to buy an aftermarket one of those as well. For $1,500+ this should not be. The plate has to be coated in aluminum foil for each use, and then you have to poke about 30 hole slots in it, to protect the cheap plating material they used for heat spread. The cheap plastic grip pieces that they put on the clean out rod broke off (it wasn’t abused). The system makes you wait 20 minutes to power down. One would think this would be so you could empty the pellets and burn off the rest, so moisture would not get to the pellets in the screw, making them expand and turning them into concrete -you would think wrong. Be prepared to have to disassemble the whole damn thing after about a year of use - no matter how clean you try to keep it. The new smoke Bo’s design is flawed - if any piece of wood is just a shade too high, when you push it on, you could throw the whole setup off and have to spend a very difficult time disassembling a hot grill - grates, plate, etc. The worst part of the experience for me is the wild temperature swings of +/- 70 degrees - that’s a big deal and not acceptable for me. Camp Chef’s response to me was they were sorry, and offered to send me some more cheap, worthless probes. I’m just disgusted they do not correct these issues and refuse to give you a break. Terrible customer service, as others have said. ... show more

  • Cheap materials
This grill is great as far temp control and features. The problem is how cheaply it’s made. The side shelf is a joke, i’m not sure what gauge of steel they use, but it’s laughable. Considering the $1500 dollar price point i would expect a higher level of quality. I feel Brands like Reqtec offer much better quality for the money. The obvious reasons people pick this grill is the smoke box and the ash clean out feature. It’s very innovative. This grill produces great food but it just feels like cheap quality. I guess you have to choose what is more important, innovative features or actual quality. $1500 is a lot of money for a grill like this. You can pick up a pit boss, traeger or even a Reqtec for less. If you can live without the smoke box i would recommend other options. ... show more

  • I bought this for my son and he loves it.
It assembled pretty easy. the on line instructions were pretty easy to follow. We had an issue with the feed motor and it took a few days for the manufacturer to reply to my email. But we got it resolved.
