Description
Review "Best of all, Cooling managed - in an era of brightly shining guitar stars - to glow with a unique creative energy" -- Don Heckman, Los Angeles Times "Jazz guitarist looks good, sounds even better" -- Mark Ruffin, Chicago Sun-Times "Joyce Cooling at her best - warm and swinging" -- The San Francisco Chronicle About the Artist When Joyce Cooling met Jay Wagner the two instantly discovered their songwriting compatibility and have been working together consistently ever since. At first, Cooling played straight-ahead jazz on her Bay Area gigs and then later joined Wagner on the Brazilian music circuit where they expanded their reach beyond the Bay by playing in numerous exotic cities like Manila, Guadulajara and Cartagena. Cooling gained further credibility as a jazz player by appearing with giants like Stan Getz, Joe Henderson, Airto and Charlie Byrd. Ruben Moura and Helio Garcia are both natives of Santos, Brasil. They are best known to San Franciscans for their work with fellow Brasilian Claudio Amaral and the very popular band Viva Brasil.
