I used this for a soaking bath for my tortoise. its good in the beginning but over time it developed fishers that becomes moldy and I have to brush instead of just rinsing it out. otherwise its ok but not for the price.

    • you think to yourself "why would I want something like this when some other food container would work
At first pass, you think to yourself "why would I want something like this when some other food container would work?..." While true, you could use some other sized container that you have around your house to do a bulk ferment of dough I've found that this Cambro works so much better. When fermenting dough or for rising, I like to spread a bit of oil on the bottom. That way I can do any kneeding or shaping in it and not have to add any flour. When combined with the lid it forms a nice tight seal, though not airtight. It's tight enough to keep the dough from drying out and forming a skin some how. Which is something I would find using other types of food storage boxes at home. My doughs come out feeling much more hydrated and softer using the dough box vs using tupperware or something similar. It's big, don't be thinking you'll easily fit this into a fridge to do a slow refrigerated rise, or sticking it in your oven as an out of the way to proof your dough. That's the biggest down side of this really. But really, you kinda knew that since we're talking restaurant/commercial food grade sized product here. ... show more

This was misleading. It only came with 1 tray and no cover. All the photos show 2 trays. No cover. Additional 35 bucks for cover. Take note.

These dough boxes work well for our pizza shop. Easy to handle from dough table to frig to prep table. Easy to clean.

    • Unconventional Use
I will be using this to create a Hecto Gel Plate for making photo transfers, which I learned from Dass Art. These pizza dough boxes and covers will make a great vehicle for making large Gel plates, to enable making larger photograph transfers.

This is a good product but for the price it looked like it was a set of two. But No it is only a single tray even though all the pic's show two trays.

Too big to fit in most residential refrigerators, but I do my pizza dough proofing in a cool basement and it works fine for that. It does have a lower unit price at some web restaurant supply stores but net shipping it comes out about equal.
