We really, really like this book. It’s perfect for a 4-year-old boy. However, it was listed as “New” condition when we purchased it. The book has been written in, making this a used book in very good condition. Disappointing to receive a book in lesser condition than it was listed as.

    • A delightful road trip!
Calling All Cars is a wonderful read aloud and an excellent choice for young toddlers and preschoolers. Its rollicking flow and fast pace will entertain even the youngest story listeners, and the bright, energetic illustrations will give kids lots of reasons to come back and read this one again and again. There are cars of all sorts travelling these highways, all driven by a fun assortment of animal characters. The animated illustrations perfectly complement the spare text, as the young reader will get introduced to basic concepts such as big/small, up/down, long/wide, fast/slow, and old/new. In addition there are more whimsical cars, and lots of honking, beeping, traffic jamming, crashing and smashing. What more could a young car fanatic want? If you are thinking that all this honking and smashing makes this book too energetic for bedtime, no need to worry. The story winds down to a nice calm end as all the cars get tucked in their garages. While the illustrations are whimsical and fun, my favorite aspect of this book is the rhyme! It is so delightful and bouncy, I can't wait to use this for toddler story time! I'm sure all my little car lovers will be entranced by this text that bounces down the highway with enough energy to make this the funnest road trip ever. ... show more
