While not exact, in a world of weak reformulations Cacharel Anais Anais Eau de Toilette L'Original is recognizable as itself. It's close enough. It's still light, airy, fresh and floral. The reformulation may have something to do with IRFA changing the regulations on oak moss and Lily of the Valley. These regulations caused tragic changes to some of the mot loved classic fragrances. But Anais Anais somehow survived mostly intact. Missing from the original (though this is marketed as L'Original): White lily, galbanum, orange blossom, lavendar, bergamot, black currant, lemon, Morrocain jasmine, carnation, tuberose, Iris, orris root, incense, cedar, patchouli, amber. Yet somehow they kept the heart of the perfume with just hyacinth, honeysuckle, lily, Lily of the Valley (in much lower % than the original), jasmine ylang-ylang, rose musk, vetiver, sandalwood and black currant. The original oakmoss has been swapped out for moss. Some people find it old fashioned or too powdery. It is not a modern skin scent or a heavy sticky TikTok trend. It was released in 1978 and the current formulation smells very much of that time, in a good way. If you like vintage fragrances, the current formulation should satisfy your cravings at a decent price. The longevity is about 4-6 hours and the juice is potent. A little goes a long way. This in one of my favorite fragrances. It has a light floral sent and you don’t have to use a lot and it lasts a long time. Great value and I would recommend this to others who are looking for a lovely fragrance that is too overwhelming.
