  • Not an easy install, but I'm pleased with the overall results
Not exactly sure where to start. This was not an easy install. But I didn't expect it to be either. The local 4 wheel shop wanted $1,200 for the install, I opted to do it myself. It isn't exactly a straight ahead, follow the directions to the letter kind of project. I had to fill in the blanks, so to speak, in a lot of spots and figure some things out that weren't clear in the instructions. if you are not a creative do-it-yourselfer, I would definitely recommend you don't try to install these on your own. I even looked on YouTube at some install videos. They helped... a little. I had to do a substantial amount of cutting to the front bumper. This is not something that is included in the directions. But the bumper is plastic, it's not rocket science to figure it out. Cutting the sheet metal definitely gave me plenty of clearance. Although it was pretty unnerving at some points cutting through the unibody and putting it back together with polyurethane putty & plastic parts & hammering pinch welds flat. These flares have been on the market for many years, so I can only assume that everything will be okay & the Jeep won't fall apart. Don't believe The 6-8 hours install estimation that it says on the directions. I think with 2 guys that have installed these many times, perhaps they might be able to do it in that time frame. But it realistically took me about 20 hours & that was with a helper. With that said I'm pleased with the final results. I was able to fit 265/75/R16 tires with a 3-inch coil lift. Full coverage all around which is what I was looking for. I am disappointed that the stainless torx bolts began to rust immediately after install. however I'm not going to worry about that, because I'm not taking those bolts out again... EVER! This job is done! ... show more

  • Best fender flares for WJ Grand Cherokees
I like the look of the Bushwacker fender flares. There are others, but for the WJ Grand Cherokees, I like these ones the most. Install isn't difficult, but those who aren't mechanically inclined and don't have the necessary tools will have the most difficulty if they are attempting to install these flares themselves. I took my time and checked my measurements a few times to ensure they fit properly. These aren't bolt on, you will have to cut/trim your fenders. My WJ has a 6 in lift and 275/70/17 Falken tires. My tires rub a lot less with these flares on. ... show more

  • Best place to get period!!
Well to be fair on the ease of install I gave it 5 stars because if your expecting this to be "easy" thats a common misconception do some research. These are bushwhackers they don't get lined up and some holes drilled and bolts put through. There is cutting, sealing, drilling ect. If your not comfortable with that don't expect to do these on your own don't call a typical mechanic find a 4x4 shop and they will charge you half the price say 600 compared to 1200. That aside I did these myself and was weary to order these on Amazon as I've never got a big item like this before but I couldn't find them anywhere that wasn't going to be a month or more out these got here in 2 DAYS!!? I couldn't believe it honestly awesome seller and Amazon came through. These things transform your Jeep they will also give you 1.5 more inch's to your tire space which is awesome so essentially a 3 inch lift and these will give you 4.5 inchs when it comes to tires I just put 32 inch tires on mine with the rock hard patriot series front and rear bumpers and man what a beautiful Jeep it is now. If you want to make these years Jeep's unique and your own look no further this is the first step you won't regret it. I'll add pictures when it's completely back together I did a lot of work to so it's in pieces atm comp audio carpet seals sound deadening ect. ... show more

  • Absolutely does not fit a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
In the images here, I am holding up the flare marked "Front Right" on my passenger front fender. It's the wrong length, the wrong height, and the cutouts aren't even remotely close to this model vehicle's curves/edges. Absolute waste of money. I read the instructions, and they literally say to **cut into your vehicle with a saw.** So... the product description is a LIE, then? I included highlighted screenshots here. "EASY INSTALLATION," "PERFECT FITMENT," "Most applications require no drill or vehicle modification." If they're so "precision-engineered" and "easy to install," why on earth do I need to cut up my vehicle and expose the body to rust problems?? Other users are reporting doing body work on their vehicle for nearly TWO DAYS in order to get these pieces of trash to fit?? I am beyond livid about this. No way am I cutting into my vehicle, hammering the body, and exposing it to all kinds of future rust problems. This is beyond ridiculous. The dumbest product I've ever bought. Insta-refund. So sad about this. I had these on my Amazon wishlist for over a year. Finally able to afford them, and I find out it's nothing but false advertisement. ... show more

  • Look Awesome - Only install if you have big rims / tires or will get some
Unless you are a mechanic or have a lot of experience cutting sheet metal, I'd highly recommend having a body shop install these. I almost did it myself, but decided against it simply because one wrong cut and you're screwed. Took my body shop a whole day to do these. They do however look great. Stock rims / tires will look silly with these since they open up the rear wheel well and extend much farther out - I ended up getting 31" tires and a 1.5" spacer to make it look right to me. It looked crazy having these on with 29" tires and no spacer. Very high quality - these will probably outlast my Jeep. *3 Year Update: Still have my Jeep, and these are still holding up perfect! *6 year update: STILL have my Jeep, and still no issues. *9 year update: Still have the jeep, still holding strong. ... show more

  • Looks fantastic
If you take your time and follow directions well, this ends up looking and fitting perfect. The only issue I had was with the printed instructions. There is a template you need to use for a part of the rear flares, but the template is not proper scale. You will need to use a printer to enlarge the template. I think I ended up going 1.35% larger. The template has an inch scale printed on it. When the inch actually equals an inch, you are set. Other than that, I love the results. The pictures are with 33" tires and a 6.5" lift from iron rock, and with the 33" tires and no lift ... show more
