This reel looks amazing! The pricing on this is well below the relative quality given. I’m not a rich guy and researched quite a bit to get the best value. I am pleased. I’ve had no problem pulling grouper off the bottom or getting a stubborn amberjack to the boat. My advice is to put high quality lubricant throughout the moving parts before you go. I realized that they can’t ship the reel if it is overly lubricated. Even with a fresh water rinse, I apparently missed the clicker mechanism. Their customer service was immediate and extremely courteous. They have a customer for life. These guys are doing it right at an amazing price point. ... show more

I've only used this a couple of times and it has worked great. The drag works well and it retrieves the line fairly fast (6:1 ratio). I have to keep my thumb on the spool if I plan to send the line out away from the boat (not a casting reel), but for trolling it works great!

I took this reel out tuna fishing last year. Trolled a couple hours withour a bite. Rinsed it off in fresh water after. Took it out this year and the drag was frozen. Soaked it with liquid wrench. Still wouldn’t budge. Finally took a wrench figuring I had nothing to lose. It snapped off. Waste of money. ... show more

This reel was a 50/50 for me considering the reviews but I said might as well It arrived perfect conditioned checked all the screws like other reviews mentioned all good it was greased up very smooth and although some say it’s not good at casting it’s amazing for me don’t have the tension knob to loose or you will bird eat pretty easily a 3 ounce weight gets me 50 yards out and when trolling be careful the handle has a tenancy of vibrating off other than that great reel brought in decent sized snook, blue fish etc would definitely recommend. ... show more

Seems like a decent reel, for the price. After reading other reviews, first thing I did was superglue the 2 Halves of the power handle together. After spooling (2) reels, I noticed the line guide wire had fallen off on one reel? This was disappointing, but hopefully resolved with more Superglue!
