Tougher than the foam puzzle pieces. A bit tougher to unpackage, though, as the ends tend to roll, so weight will need to be placed towards the edges to ease them. While a lesser gauge than the typical foam, this is a sturdy material that has no issue protecting my laminate floor from my fan resistance bike. I would keep this mat for the equipment because the foam tiles feel better under foot. No weird smells or issues noted. ... show more
