I ride single speed fixie bikes, essentially a road bike with just a single gear and flat bars. And while riding hunched over (riding the hoods, as they say) was okay in my youth, now that I’m in my mid 60s, riding in that position is not so comfortable anymore. I got the 120mm rise which is quite a bit different than the 32mm I’m used to, but that additional rise allows me to ride upright instead of hunched over. And while the ad states these are 580mm wide, they really do not appear to be, but my tape measure states they are; however, if you desire them shorter there are markings that show areas to cut to take them down to 520mm. Construction, obviously, is aluminum with what appears to be an anodized finish which should last substantially longer than the steel bars I had that were already rusting after less than a year of use. If you intend to switch over grips, brakes, etc, they should fit just as easily on this bar as the one you were using. About the only thing potential buyers have to watch for is the clamp diameter. I use a 25.4 diameter handlebar clamp but some other designs utilize a 31.8mm clamp. When in doubt, check the clamp area around your handlebar – it may be marked. Oh, and kudos to the manufacturer in wrapping this for shipping. I’ve seen mummies with less wrapping than this came in (and that’s not bad). In fact, it comes wrapped in foam tubing covered with yellow tape. Plan on having scissors handy. As for pricing, it’s about on par with what you’d expect to pay for handlebars of this quality. ... show more

I'm an old man with a bad back. Most bikes these days have the seat higher than the handlebars. No good. I tried a 180mm stem, but with flat mountain bike style bars, it's still too low. All my body weight is still on my hands. When I saw these bars, I thought I'd give them a shot. They definitely take care of the issue of height, but they look pretty ridiculous. On a 29" mountain bike, these bars look like they belong on a little kid's balance bike. It fixes my issues, but I've got to decide if I can live with the ridiculous looks or not.     • Good Quality Lightweight Handlebars that are too Small

I ordered these handlebars for my husband's beach cruiser. He won't be using them because they feel too small for his liking. They are very lightweight aluminum handlebars. They appear to be of good quality. The outside is textured by blasting so they have a slight gritty feel to them. The ends of the bars have markings that can be cut off if needed. My 5'10" husband said that these are not large handlebars for cruisers but are more for trick bikes or for children's bike. He can't ride with these comfortably due to the narrow width and will most likely donate them. We don't recommend them unless a narrower handlebar is needed. ... show more

Nice construction and finish. Made for what they say they are. They are fairly light duty so do not use them for BMX or any kind of terrain and jumping. As you can see from the pic, there is no crossbar. That cross bar is not a "style" thing, it keeps the bars from folding down when sticking a landing off a jump. Without it, these can fold on you. The gauge is also much thinner than bars made for BMX, etc. This is good for the purpose designed. They are lighter. Good bars for the light commuter e-bike with small wheels and perhaps fold-able too. Make sure you measure too. These have a narrower width that is actually quite comfortable. I got this to put on a trike I'm building. It's PERFECT. The bars it replaced were some big white "monkey bars" and it needed something a bit more modern and up-to-date looking. It had to have some rise (which these do), but couldn't be TOO high like the old bars were. This is a home run for my bike build. And the old bar happened to be steel...this bar weighs probably 1/2 what the old one does. So it's definitely an upgrade all the way around. I'm totally happy with this bar, 5 stars! ... show more

This is a quality piece with a great finish, super light weight aluminum with a huge rise is perfect for my stand up adult scooter. I replaced the steel handlebars and stem with this and another piece and probably shaved off a 1.5 pounds of weight. Ad to that the fact that it looks nicer and more upscale, and that the bends are made in such a way that the stem could slide around the curves without getting stuck and I am sold on this. ... show more
