  • Worksman Required Equipment
Color: Black-Chrome Springs
Bought this seat a while ago and used it on a Worksman newsboy. Immediately very comfortable. The leather is like a suspension - even though it feels hard to hand it cradles the sit bones - doesn't provide fake comfort like memory foam or gel - which turns to pain after a couple miles. I got another Worksman, this time the flat bar and put it on. Immediately rode about 4 miles on the beach the first day and another 3 or so the next day (windy so not too far). Absolutely perfect from first pedal. Feel like this would be great for 15+ mi easily on a cruiser. This is a sit-up position seat. Get the B17 or C19 if you want a crouching forward seat (if you have wider sit bones). ... show more

  • Large and in charge
Color: Black-Chrome Springs
Very comfortable, albeit wide, saddle. Luckily, I am a larger-than-normal cyclist, and the width isn't an impediment to my cycling. I put this on my clunker bike, which is a great application for a sprung saddle, even if the saddle constitutes a significant portion of the bike's value/cost. Famous Brooks construction and durability, should last decades (I am looking at you WTB!). Rounds off all the edges when riding a rigid bike on rough terrain. Yeah, it's expensive. But it's only money. And your bike deserves it. ... show more

  • It's a Brooks... You get what you pay for
Color: Black-Chrome Springs
UPDATE March 2022: Still going strong. Best bike saddle I ever had. Very recommended! UPDATE April 1 2019: The saddle feels more comfortable as it is breaking in, looks like new, and is quiet (some reviews complain about squeaking - not in my case). In view of the good experience I got a B66 (also an Amazon warehouse deal) for my cruiser. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Quite honestly, I was feeling a little ridiculous when I was attaching this over $100 saddle to my barely $200 worth bike... until I took the test ride. The feeling of ridicule became a feeling of elation; and now I am a(nother) convert. After painful experiences with hard plastic saddles I have used padded vinyl saddles all those years, and still like them very much- don't take me wrong. But their padding compacts after a year or two, the plastic deteriorates, and then they're toast. So I decided to try a Brooks although it's well over my budget limit (I got this one as an Open Item Amazon Warehouse deal). Well, The brooks B67 is truly different: Firm without being hard, and with proper maintenance and care (exact instructions ref. break-in and care are included) it should last many, many years. With barely 5 miles on it as I write this review it's still in its break-in infancy, but feels already very comfortable, and as the saddle is not "squishy" the bike feels a lot "lighter" and more responsive. The many glowing 5-star reviews for this and similar brooks models are NOT exaggerations. There is one caveat: Brooks has many models. The "Classical Sprung" ones (like the B66, B67) are designed exclusively for UPRIGHT riding position, and that is clearly labeled on the package (see photo). Since I ride in that position (like most leisure/utility cyclists) it's just perfect. But when I 'hunch over' (like starting in stiff head wind) the saddle feels more uncomfortable as the nose digs in my plumbing, and since the butt and torso are not sitting straight on the springs they don't work as shock dampers as intended. As soon as I am upright again at cruising speed, it's back to normal. The B67 does not come with a seat clamp for standard 7/8 seat posts (see pictures), but any standard seat post clamp will do. I used one I had salvaged from a broken saddle. There are some additional expenditures (outside the seat clamp), as a vinyl cover, and *most importantly* a tin of Brooks Proofide. The saddle comes with a small pouch with 2.5ml proofide for the initial dressing (before the first use), but as it breaks in, and later as maintenance, it has to be treated on a certain schedule, which is explained in the instructions. The Brooks company is ADAMANT that their saddles only can be treated with Proofide, and that the use of any other leather dressing product will void the guarantee and might cause damage to the leather. I don't worry about the guarantee, but the idea that the leather seat might get saggy due to an improper dressing product makes me feel uneasy. The good news is: only a tiny amount of Proofide is needed per treatment, so even a small tin will last quite a time. In conclusion: Brooks saddles are way over many a commoner's budget, and need more and specific care than other similar products (they shouldn't get wet, i.e., therefore the need for having a vinyl cover). But you get what you pay for- it's really a top of the line item. It will prove interesting how this saddle will do in the hot, humid south FL weather with frequent downpours and rain storms, although I keep my bikes indoors. Curiosity got the cat here... :-) I will try to keep this review updated. ... show more

  • I'm a believer now.
Color: Black-Chrome Springs
I purchased this seat before but when I got it , it seemed hard as a rock . I thought to myself there is no way this seat could be comfortable so I returned it thinking it wouldn't be good so I never put it on the bike to test it. But I watched a few youtube videos and people swearing by them so I reluctantly purchased another one in my journey to find the perfect bike seat. I tried a few of the plush grandma looking ones that had tons of billowy pillow cushion but they still hurt while riding. WOW , after only a few rides , I get it. The seat molds to your specific sit bones. It's science , it works. It's comfortable. After long rides by bottom is not sore. And the seat looks fantastic on the bike. I guess there is a reason these seats have been made for 100+ years. That's where the long ago science learned of the way these seats are designed. The leather "after a few rides" starts to mold to your specific bone structure meaning the two sit bones in your bumm creating a sort of not soft ride but not hard ride but kind of works really well ride. Make sense? Right out of the box the seat felt good , but it does break in and get better. As an added bonus I have a hard-tail and it does help to cushion some of the bumps. ... show more

  • It's a brooks!
Color: Tan with Black Laces-Chrome Springs
I'm looking forward to many years with this saddle. Today was the first ride and it performed well. I have a 3 month old ebike (rad rover 5) The stock seat was killing my hip. At 225 lbs I needed something with some spring to it. I researched, I read reviews, I saw the 8000+ reviews on Amazon and bought a cloud 9 seat... not happy. The seat does have a nice spoungy feel to it. But I was having trouble with the springs moving, creeking while riding, and snapping on me. I decided to just buy right the next time and get the b27 brooks saddle. I've owned brooks saddles in the past, and they always performed well. After oiling this one and giving it a hard rub down I took it on my daily commute, 6 miles. I'm pleased with it, I know I should do this after a couple 30 mile rides, that will have to wait till after the weekend. The saddle is firm on your tush, not hard and uncomfortable. The springs are also firm, but I did feel them working on the more uneven sections of sidewalk and road. It is a very different feel from the softer gel seat. I liked the ride. I am hoping the hip will enjoy the saddle as much as I do, time will tell. ... show more
