To be on the lower end of the Brooks line, I found the trace to be very comfortable and a great walking shoe. Not quite as much cushion as the ghosts, which I also own multiple pair, but found the slightly harder sole to be very stable when walking.

Bought these for my son who is flat footed. I’ve been wearing Brookes for years and love them. I have a bad hip and these shoes have great support and keep me steady on my feet. So for my son who has to always wear an arch support insert in all his shoes I thought why not try them for him. I kid you not he has worn these everyday since receiving them last week. And he doesn’t need his arch support insert with these. Brooke’s arch support is awesome. I own about 6 pairs. Highly recommend for wherever life takes you from running to hiking to walking. I can't believe how light these shoes are! I like to look and the fit is great, even for my very narrow feet. I'm not a small guy (200+ lb) but these shoes are comfy. I put my own insert in them due to plantar fasciitis and they are fine. For now they are my 'good' shoes and I only wear them when going out and about and not walking or working out. My only concern is that they are so light they won't hold up for long, but I'll report back if anything happens. ... show more

Good value for the price. Comfortable, nice looking, supportive x like most Brooks shoes. Not what I would buy for running or heavy workouts, but I didn’t buy them for that purpose. Definitely recommend.
