  • Pretty good saddle
Size: C15 Style: Carved Pattern Name: Bike Saddle
I ride 150 to 250 miles a week and have have tried out many many saddles ( including Selle, Fizik, and Bontrager).my best saddle allowed me to ride about 50 miles before becoming increasingly painful. I purchased the Brooks C15 , set the nose level and rode 30 miles with no issues. The next day I rode 90 miles, with basically no issues again. I did feel some pressure as the ride went on, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as my other saddles. As noted, the saddle is a little heavy so I gave it 4 stars. If you ride on the drops a lot, I would suggest setting the nose tilt 1Degree down. ... show more

  • I'm surprised.
Size: C17 Style: Carved Pattern Name: Bike Saddle
I have been doubting Brooks saddles for a long time. I have heard people talk about them, and admittedly they look handsome, but until I got an Amazon gift card and had nothing to lose, I was not a believer. This is quite comfortable. The flexation is really perfect for riding comfortably with good support and enough give to feel comfortable, almost soft on the sit bones. I've struggled a lot with pain from my sit bones and the vascular pain that comes from bike saddles. I haven't experienced that pain at all since installing this. I'm sold. ... show more

  • You can't judge a book or a saddle by its cover
Size: C15 Style: Carved Pattern Name: Bike Saddle
I bought this saddle on a lark, knowing I could return it to Amazon if I didn't like it. I had my reservations since it didn't look comfortable (e.g., no real padding). What drove me to try it was a review about how this saddle made it possible for the reviewer's friends to ride a bike again. Other reviewers trashed it as the most uncomfortable saddle they ever used. In the past, I've owned probably 25-30 saddles including Selle SMP, Brooks (leather), Fizik Aliante, Selle Anatomica, Fabric, Cannondale, Bi-Saddle, and a bunch more that I've forgotten. My latest was SqLab 610 which was about 70% comfortable after getting used to riding on a perch. So I was skeptical about this Brooks C13. After some minor adjustments, the saddle was incredibly comfortable the first time I rode it. After 4+ hours on the bike, it was still comfortable, which isn't something I can say about any of my other saddles. In short, this is the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden on. ... show more

  • Size matters
Size: C17 Style: Carved Pattern Name: Bike Saddle
I have been through the wringer trying to find the perfect fitting saddle. I have two of these this is on my gravel flat bar bike and I’m in a more upright position so I’m needing a bit wider than my mtb (mountain bike) on the mtb I’m more leaned down towards the handlebars. If you do a sit bone width test like at a shop they’ll most likely test only for one position. However if you go over to the Brooks website they have a method that talks about how your sit bone width changes depending on how you sit on your bike. I was rocking off the edges of most every saddle I was tested for. On my mountain bike I ride XC longer distance type rides and as fast as possible for an older 60 something guy. I have the Brooks c13 carbon rail it’s a 154mm wid, my C17 is the 168mm width (I could be off a bit on those numbers but I’m very close) and get this on my shorter days in the saddle I don’t need padded shorts I could probably get away with not wearing the diaper. The C17 is heavy that’s one of the drawbacks I had with buying this saddle, I had one before on a 19lb gravel bike and I sold it and found myself back to chasing the perfect fitting saddle and I couldn’t find it, I’m over the weight thing nowadays for this bike the C17 is on and the C13 I have is lighter but still a bit heavy for a carbon rail saddle. The C13 in the Brooks lineup is the only one I’m aware of that has a number but comes in different sizes/widths ... show more

  • Great, very comfortable saddle, be wary of sizing.
Size: C17 Style: Carved Pattern Name: Bike Saddle
The TL;DR Pros & Cons: These are my experiences. Everyone's body is different, so saddles will fit people differently. In general this saddle is highly rated by a lot of customers, so it is likely a good fit for the wide variety of riders, but if you have some a unique physical inclination, it may not be for you. Pros: - Very comfortable, despite how thin & unpadded it looks - Cut out relieved the genital numbness and overall discomfort issues I was having while riding my road bike. - Price was just right. Paid about $100 at the time. I know that might be expensive for some people, as it's more than what they paid for their bikes. It's all relative, and to me the comfort is worth it. - Weatherproofing really works! - I am a big fan of the look (and lack of maintenance) on my bike compared to Brooks' traditional leather saddles. Now my only issue is that my bike looks faster than I actually am. Oh well. Cons: - Sizing was kind of tough to determine, and I ultimately ended up buying the wrong size. - The saddle is on the heavier side, so if you're someone that's concerned about component weights, this saddle might not be for you. - The vulcanized surface of the seat is not very slick. Hard to describe, but it's not sticky or tacky in the sense where it will leave a residue if you touch it, but it will kind of catch at your clothing a little bit. As a male rider, I was experiencing some issues with numbness and discomfort with the boys downstairs, even on relatively short (12mi.) rides. After some research, I found that a saddle with a cutout was likely what would help relieve my issues. I'd read a lot about the supreme comfort of Brooks' leather saddles, but frankly didn't care for the leather look on my road bike, as well as the maintenance that goes with them. Then I found Brooks' Cambium line. The saddle looks very thin with minimal padding, which would lead you to believe that it won't be comfortable, but contrary to popular belief, my online research told me that thinner saddles with less padding are actually more comfortable in the long run than extremely padded saddles. Still do not completely understand how that makes sense, but it seems to be true in this case. Not only was it comfortable, but also the cut-out in the saddle resolved the numbness issues I was having. You're welcome, my future children. I did it for you. Sizing was a question that I had, and it ended up being kind of hard to determine which model I needed between C15, C17, or C19. Somehow, I was lead to believe that the C17 was the right size for me and my riding (road bike riding, with a bike frame that puts me in a less relaxed, more aggressive position). I am an average build (5'10 x 180lbs), and the saddle was actually a little too wide. My sit bones started to feel a little sore on longer rides. If I could do it again, I'd go narrower with the C15 (and I actually have bought a C15 carved because I like the saddle so much). The C17, as I found out later, was built more for women, since women have wider sit bones then men, as well as people who have bikes that put them in a more relaxed and upright position (i.e. not me.). Other than that, the saddle is everything that has been advertised, and I don't see myself looking for a different saddle anytime soon. ... show more

  • Great for semi upright position
Size: C19 Style: Carved Pattern Name: Bike Saddle
Purchased for my commuter road bike with drop bars and riser stem. I was skeptical of whether the C19 would be too big but it is breaking in quite well and was too good a deal to pass up! Really like the cutout!
