  • Weak magnets
I was surprised at how weak the magnets. I purchased the blocks for a child to use while in a car seat. It was frustrating that the blocks so easily slid apart.

  • The cubes are only magnetic on two sides
These are just okay in our book. The colors are nice and bright. The blocks are small but so are little hands. My little one was excited to play with these and did so for a good 15 minutes. He figured out that sometimes the blocks stick together sometimes....most of the time they don’t. If you want to use them as regular non magnetic blocks that makes more sense. ... show more

  • These blocks are beautiful, but...
They really are gorgeous. The paint is very smooth, and they look very nice. However, they are not really magnetic blocks. Yes, 2 sides of each block have a magnet, 1 is a positive charge, the other a negative charge. That means that you have to rotate the blocks many time to find the right combination to where they will "stick" together. It is difficult for me (an adult), and impossible for my kids. Also, the magnets are very weak. Attaching 2 block together, and lifting the top block, the bottom will fall. They are great as block, but not worth the $$$. ... show more

  • The blocks do not work!
Only one side of the blocks are magnetic. How is a toddler supposed to figure out why they stick together sometimes and don't others? Even the sides that are magnetic are weak. Don't waste your money.

  • So smooth
These were brought to mix in with other blocks and the magnetic properties to be a surprise aspect, which will work really well. These are so smooth and not clearly magnetic by visual examination.

  • Magnetic only one side of each piece..

  • I have been so pleased with Brio products through the years
The magnetics are next to none. I have been so pleased with Brio products through the years, I never thought to read the reviews. The blocks are bright and colorful, the paint job is excellent - the quality is good. I purchased them for their magnetic qualities and that are definitely lacking in that area. Considering how much they cost for so few blocks it's wasn't worth it. I highly recommend trains and tracks - they are excellent. ... show more

Not impressed at all. These magnet blocks are very hard to stack. They have to be turned just right to go together. Magnetic field is very weak and they don’t stick together at all. Will not by any more. If little ones throw them they are heavy and would really hurt or ruin furniture.
