  • hard to change humidity.
It was really hard to get the right humidity

  • egg incubator
This is a great beginner incubator for school project or for small home chicken coup. It works great. The directions for it are better on the amazon web site then what come in the box. The directions in box are terrible. So you know in advance for beginners, you have to put the tubbing in a cup of water. Don't add water to the inside of the incubator, it will draw the water up into the incubator it's self. ... show more

  • It takes practice. Changing one star to five.
Used this to hatch Brown Eared pheasants, Tragopans, and Mandarins so far. It takes getting used to. You can't just take the lid off to candle or add eggs because the humidity will jump WAY up. What I do is lower the humidity to the lowest setting-20% then take the lid off. That way when I put the lid back on the pump won't start pumping and the humidity reading has time to adjust itself. Usually it comes back to where it was originally set. Then you can up the setting to where it was . Once you figure it out, it's a pretty good little incubator. ... show more

  • Beware. Make sure you completely understand how the moisture hose works!
Ordered in December and didn't open until we ordered our eggs. Tried to get it to work and set a correct humidity level, but found the inside workings had either missing parts, crimped water lines and other things that would not work. AND of course, I'm 2 weeks late for the return window... Just a warning. Later…I’m sorry Brinsea, I continued to search for answers on why I couldn’t get it to work. Found a You Tube video that explained it very well and it worked just fine after I ordered a big one. Very well-made product! ... show more

  • Easy to Set-Up
I'm new to incubating eggs and this incubator is pretty easy to set up - just follow the instructions. You'll want to make sure that you have the specific temps and humidity level # for the type of eggs you're wanting to hatch (I'm doing turkey eggs). This is all automatic, except when it's time to prep the eggs for hatching. At that time the turning disc will need to be removed and turning function turned off and the hatching mat put in place. The unfortunate thing is that this unit only comes with one hatching mat. This is a nice incubator although a bit spendy, but it is worth it. ... show more

  • Not super clear on egg size
The incubator suggests that it can hold 7 duck eggs. I bought 7 eggs. 2 pekin, 2 buff, 1 black swedish and 1 blue swedish. Only one swedish duck egg functioned with the auto turning feature. This is for an incubator that cost me $400.00 You would think they would advertise what specific duck breeds would fit and which ones wouldn't, because the user manual and website advertises simply that duck eggs WILL fit. I'm very disappointed that i now must manually turn 7 duck eggs 5 times a day for an incubator that cost this much. I also called the customer service number advertised on the website and the woman that answered had no clue that my model even fit duck eggs and just seemed oblivious in general to the products lines or how any of it works. Very upset with my purchase and staff. ... show more

  • Unacceptable for Parrot Eggs
I tested the unit for 2 days. The unit is easy to program and set up. The unit held a temperature of 99.5 degrees within an acceptable +.1 and - .5 degree Fahrenheit tolerance over the 48 hour period. (ambient room temperature was 72 degrees +/- 2 degrees.) The humidity was set to 45% fluctuated by +/-10% regardless of the fact the ambient room humidity remained consistent within 1% at all times. The entire unit vibrates from the air circulation fan that the unit utilizes. The vibration of eggs is unacceptable and can negatively impact a developing bird, especially during the most critical early stages of the first 14 days of incubation. While this unit will work, it is not appropriate for precious and expensive parrot egg incubation. The vibration of the eggs needs to be eliminated. ... show more

Great incubator! I was very impressed with my hatch rates and am still using back to back with no issues! A little pricy though.
