I read tons of reviews on this product before I purchased as I was skeptical that it would work. I wanted it to get rid of all my chin hairs without having to pluck every single day. The first time I used it I was a bit nervous as I thought it would be painful, but it isn’t. I have had it for 3 weeks and used it every day for the first two weeks.     • LOVE IT!!
This thing is amazing!! I have used it on my face, arms, legs, armpits, and bikini area. It gets everything from soft peach fuzz to thick pubic hair. Is it painless? Of course not! It would be quite unrealistic to think that ripping one's hair out from the root would be pleasant. But it's really not horrible. I find it less painful than waxing. Some areas are more sensitive than others. It can leave some reds bumps, but a good after shave product really helps. I find I often have to make several passes to get all the hairs, but that's totally acceptable to me. I really couldn't be happier with this product! ... show more

    • Maybe a Little TOO Flexible
I think I prefer the Braun Epilator 8 that I have as it doesn't have this ultra flexible head. I have a lot of facial hair, like I can grow a beard like a man in a few days facial hair. The epilator works best, despite the pain, at keeping it at bay without all the irritation shaving causes or the 'five o'clock shadow' effect. It does HURT like the dickens! It takes some getting used to, but I have gotten used to it everywhere but my upper lips which I cannot use the epilator on as it causes too much pain. This particular model, has a flexible head, which I thought would be great to get my neck area better, while it is easier to get the neck area, it takes many more swipes of this epilator than my previous one to get the same amount of hairs because of the swivel effect. It was much more effective at getting the hairs with the Epilator 8. Just as easy to clean, but does have a smaller head than the Epilator 8. The other heads and accessories work just as well, the travel 'hold all' bag is a lot nicer than before. The charge seems to last longer as well. P.S. NO, this has not made my hair stop growing or slow down it's growth, but it has made it less noticeable that I have this issue because there is no razor burn or five o'clock shadow issues. Pro Tip: WAY less painful on shorter hairs than on longer ones. It seems the longer the hair is on any part of the body, the more using the epilator hurts me. If the hairs are shorter, YES it does miss some, but it is WAY less painful. ... show more

    • A year later, most of the epilated parts don't need epilating
First: You're already at home; do NOT "go big or go home". If you torture yourself, you may not succeed. If 300 hairs hurt to pull, maybe try 30 for 10 days in a row. Shave. Not kidding. Don't try to rip everything out at once. Rip out what it can reach the day after shaving and the day after that. If the regrowth is heavy? Shave again and repeat. A year later, I don't have to do my legs. My underarms are 10% what they used to be, hair wise. They need to be done 2x a month during low growth seasons, 1x/week during active growth times, and they used to be a daily shave. That's my own personal thought: if I weren't looking from the close distance of my own eyes to my own arm pit, maybe it would be even less often. :) Bikini line is lighter, but still requires weekly maintenance. The funny thing is that you'll look down at your calf and see 1 hair that's obviously been there for a week or three, but you won't have felt it. No stubble, no reminder that you haven't done your legs in months. And you'll just pull it out. I wish I could use it plugged in. But I like the pivoting head. I like the wet/dry option. Like how easy it is to clean. Decent battery life. Just don't go big or go home. You're *already* at home. Rip a little at a time and you'll see an immediate difference. Don't tell Braun, but those little chin hairs I pretend I don't have? Those, too. Faster and easier than plucking Highly recommend! ... show more

    • I Changed my Mind From 5 Stars to 1 Star!
NEW REVIEW: After using this for a little bit over a month, I can say that I was too excited about how this epilator was taking out all the hair so quickly. The problem is it takes also the top skin off with the hairs as well. I know it's gruesome. I had really rough skin just after using this about 2 times. My skin was super soft prior to that and I'm mainly talking about my legs. I complained to Braun about this and they said that I need to stop using it immediately. I've been back to waxing and my skin is still not healed yet. I can't believe that in order to make an epilator that removes the short hairs as well, it becomes very unsafe for the skin. OLD REVIEW: Ok so first time use feedback: HELL YEAH!!! That's what I was looking for all this time! A really fast epilator. It took me about almost the same time or maybe a couple of minutes more to epilate both my legs as if I were to use a razor. Now, I'm not super hairy, I'd say I'm on the medium to light... I'm no stranger to epilators either. The last time I used one was Braun in 2007 which wasn't that great, but definitely this is the stuff. New and improved. I'll be posting updates on underarms, face, and longevity. I know Braun products don't hold up too long so we shall see.. ... show more
