Because of the price I decided to try it. The tester worked as advertised. The design of the tester pin causes it to not fit into some vehicle brake reservoirs, particularly if it has a neck.

It seems extremely unsensitive. Never seen it detect any moisture in brake fluid. Even when put directly in water, won't like up all the LED's unless completely submerged. Useless.

Those of us that are used to buying the test strips that measure the amount of copper dissolved off of the tubing inner wall this is a much less expensive alternative especially if you use a tablet system for RO in your shop where you can take and insert a picture. With bright green and red LEDs it's obvious when the hygroscopic nature of brake fluid has absorbed water to a problematic level. To me the strips were horrifically overpriced for the amount of flush sales generated, by the time you got a result you could visually see the green tinge of the fluid anyway. I've had mine for a few weeks, so I have no information on longevity. Would be worth setting a schedule on your phone to change out batteries if you don't use it often so you don't have it self destroyed by the battery leaking if you don't use it too much ... show more
