I had no idea what to expect, had never even seen anything like this before, nor knew they even existed, so how could I be anything but totally mesmerized with my purchase of these miniature figures? I am using them for an as yet undetermined, but I'm sure totally bizarro art project, and not, apparently, for their typically intended purpose, so the jury's still out on how they will perform in their assigned role. However, I must admit, I found them so unbelievably compelling, I wanted to immediately develop an interest in hobby trains, or fashion/architectural displays, for which they are, apparently most notably purposed. Expecting the figures to be pliable, I quickly found they are not. (This is not a criticism, just a fact.) As soon as I opened them, I involuntarily murmured, "Awwww!" in delight, then immediately tried to see if I could manipulate the pose, then BAM! no longer a "Generic White Model," a seriously athletic TAB male gold medal contender figure was instantly transformed into a seriously athletic paraplegic gold medal contender. (He looks so natural and so fantastic in his new pose, I now want to see if DSHL sells miniature wheelchairs. If not, I guess I'll have to make one myself...hint, hint DSHL.) I am glad I got these "Train People," am satisfied, and intend to buy more than the four recently purchased and received from DSHL, as well as two other packages from as many purveyors. Finally, DSHL sent a professional, polite follow up email, the product arrived sooner than expected, was securely packaged, and what's not to like about these teensy, weensie, adorable people-ish figures? the product is ok .. a little smaller then I thought for 1/75 scale the detailing is very lacking for most of the figures. they appear either very thin and or too tall more like stick figures almost. I'm having to treat these figure more like small people when using with the 1/72 scale figures I have. I guess you get what you pay for. I hope they soon come up with some 1/72 scale figures as well add some more detail them. I also found a small number of figures in a much small scale in the bag I got. ... show more

I probably should have read the description better. All one hundred people showed up in a baggie about the size of a quarter. The only way to work with these people is with tweezers. They are very small.
