  • ViseeO Tune2Air worked great on Mercedes-Benz GL450
A couple weeks ago I bought a Mercedes-Benz GL450 and I was really exited to take it on a family road trip. After a few days, I was disappointed to find out that Mercedes had omitted one of the most essential entertainment features in modern cars. I'm talking about, of course, Bluetooth streaming. At first I tried to read through the owner's manual to see if I was, perhaps, wrong. But no, the navigation unit of the Mercedes-Benz GL450 does not offer Bluetooth streaming only Bluetooth calls. After researching on the web different ways to add Bluetooth streaming to my car I decided to go with the ViseeO Tune2Air mainly because it had moderately good reviews here on Amazon and the price wasn't terribly bad. So, after a few weeks of having the ViseeO Tune2Air installed on my Mercedes this is what I found out. First, the ViseeO works great on the Mercedes head unit and there are no compatibility or sound issues whatsoever. The sound is very solid with no static or connection issues. I tried the ViseeO with multiple devices, (iphone 7+, ipad air, ipad pro, samsung galaxy s7, samung galaxy note 5) and all of them seem to be completely compatible with the viseeo with no connection issues. After the first pairing process the ViseeO auto connects to same device. Another thing that I also noticed is that there is no need to charge the ViseeO as it gets its power from the car. Just plug it in and forget about it. Okay, so, on to the issues. The most annoying issue that I encountered was that it was a little difficult to do the initial installation. At first I tried to pair it to my iphone 7 but for some reason none of my apps would work including Spotify, pandora, or even apple music. So this is how I was able to pair the ViseeO to my iPhone 7+. After searching through the web I found out that you need to have at least one song on your music collection downloaded on your iphone in order for the ViseeO to recognize your phone. So I just bought a song from itunes and the ViseeO finally recognized my iphone 7+. To do the initial pairing process first you plug in the ViseeO into the port usually located in the glove box, then with the radio off you turn on car to auxiliary mode (power to radio only), you then turn on the Bluetooth on your phone and select Tune2Air, input the passcode 0000, and finally turn on the car and radio and your phone should be paired and recognized by the ViseeO. After this first pairing process, any device previously connected should re-connect automatically. When I was looking at the reviews a few weeks ago I saw that there were a lot of people with Audi vehicles complaining about this device not working for them so I was really skeptical about it. But for everyone else out there who has a Mercedes my guess is that it will probably work great on your car. ... show more

  • Such a simple upgrade that adds incredible enjoyment.
My 2009 Audi A4 Prestige should have had this technology built in. Having said that, it didn't. For $85 this upgrade improves my two hours a day commute immensely. Let's talk about the specifics of my listening experience. I'm using a Galaxy S6 on AT&T's network. I already mentioned the car. Setup took me 2 minutes. Unplug the iPod classic. Plug this thing in. Wait a few seconds for the blue light to blink. Go into bluetooth settings on the phone. The ViseeO is discovered within 20 seconds. Connect to it. Make a few adjustments to the media volume on my phone, which is resting in a cradle in the center of the driving console. Sound quality is amazing with Pandora. Mostly though, I'm using Amazon's Audible to listen to audiobooks. The MMI console is relatively useless for everything other than volume control. I use the phone to skip forward, backward and start/stop my audio streams. It's nice to have Waze's navigation guidance coming through my car audio now. I can make/receive phone calls over the car's built-in bluetooth without issues. I have not experienced any of the hisses, clicks, pops or skips described by other reviewers. To me the audio sounds just as clear and rich as what was coming through the iPod classic. I would have paid twice what I did for this product (although I'm glad that wasn't necessary). It's such a pleasure to have Pandora available when I want to rock out. It's incredibly convenient to be able to download an audio book right to my phone whenever I'm in the mood for more of Jack Reacher or want to listen to a new sci-fi title. The old way sucked. I'm happy to be rid of iTunes on a laptop and the manual sync to the iPod classic. This is the way the car should have been setup from the factory! My next car will have full smartphone compatibility and bluetooth service as a non-optional feature. Until that day rolls around this is the solution to my dilemma. ... show more
