  • Exhaust sounds amazing... if not a little too aggressive.
Installation of this exhaust was super easy. I get leery every time I see the "insert the flared end over the standard diameter pipe" connections on exhausts like this vs flanges that bolt together, but the flared sections were great on this exhaust. I was fortunate enough to be able to do this on a lift, and I wasn't able to get the large mid-section off without cutting it. There's a YouTube video where a woman takes the stock exhaust off and makes it look like the easiest thing in the world. I call BS on that one. If you're doing this with the truck on jackstands there's no way in h3ll you'll be able to get it off in one piece since it hasn't to be angled so far down to work the back section over the rear axle. I spent so much time trying to get the damn exhaust hangers off (my truck had 8000 miles on it when I did this, so the rubber was nice and new and sticky on the exhaust hangers), and yes, I bathed them in PB Blaster, which did help. Do yourself a HUGE favor and buy an exhaust hanger removal tool and save tons of time. All in all the removal of the stock exhaust and the installation of this exhaust took me around 2 hours using a lift, and an hour and a half was f'ing with the stupid exhaust hangers trying to lube them, try to find various tools to use as leverage to pry them off, etc. BUY AN EXHAUST HANGER REMOVAL TOOL. Once the exhaust was installed everything was great. There's a bunch of adjustability to move the tips in and out and up and down to get them centered in the bumper cutouts, and if you don't get it right the first time it's pretty simple to crawl under the back of the truck, loosen the clamps, and make some minor adjustments in just a few minutes. Sound is pretty awesome, but pretty aggressive. If I was someone who had to leave a neighborhood at 6 am every day I'd kinda feel like a knob firing this thing up so early. Your neighbors will hate you. Cold starts are both a sight to behold and an obnoxious affair. I fired it up when my wife was behind it pulling the garbage out of the garage and scared the crap out of her. Totally worth it, but it'll shake the garage door if I'm backed up to it, and if the door open the entire garage itself acts like a giant horn blasting directly at the house across the street, so you really can't win. I leave for work at around 8 AM every morning so I don't feel TOO bad, but I still try to limp it out of the neighborhood on idle. Once you get out on the open road and hammer down it sounds awesome though. You'll definitely notice the ZF 8 speed gear hunting more than you do with a stock exhaust, but it's not too bad. There's a burp/gurgle when the truck goes into 4 cylinder mode that kinda sounds like crap, but you can disable the cylinder deactivation by hitting the "Max Gear" minus button when in 8th gear (or + button to max it out to 8 when in any other gear) to set the "max gear" setting to 8. Even with the stock exhaust I noticed the change-over from 8 to 4 and it bugs me, so I just do this by habit every time I get into the truck, along with disabling stop-start. Both of these things are an annoyance of the truck though and not the exhaust, but whatever. When out romping on it, it's a badass sounding exhaust. If you're worried about it being too loud, it probably is and you should get the S-Type instead. If you don't give AF, and don't have to leave early for work with neighbors that are within 1/2 mile of you, go for it. ... show more

  • Great Exhaust
Installed on my 22 Ram hemi. Sounds mean. Shakes my house on cold startup outside, it's an impressive symphony of V8 music. No the neighbors don't like it(I only have to leave early twice a week so they can deal). While it is pretty loud, it has a great sound(my preference over flow master etc). I was impressed at the lack of drone once you get into 8th gear between 50-80mph cruising, you almost forget it is there. I might end up adding a resonator once the new wears off and take some of the bite out of the start up. ... show more

  • Loudness
It sounds amazing when installed and when its all dried out (oil inside exhaust) it quiets down but no droning at all 👌🏻

  • easy install. Sounds great.
Easy to install and sounds great. Was worried that it would be too loud but find it just right inside the cab. Exhaust really mellows out when cruising at highway speeds for an enjoyable ride. This is with my ANC being disconnected as well (aftermarket amplifiers). Took me exactly two hours to install and clean up by myself. I put the rear wheels on ramps and removed the spare and both heat shields (easy). Also worth noting is I have a 3” Ready Lift of the truck which helps. Was able to get the factory exhaust out without cutting. Definitely sounds awesome and loud but nice tones in the cab. UPDATE: very obnoxious when towing my trailer. 75mph with the trailer will drive you insane going across Utah. Other than that it’s awesome. MPG has definitely gone up since installing by about 1mpg. ... show more

I love this product. It came in and everything was packaged with extra support. The product was easy to install and works great. I highly recommend this if you want to give your vehicle that great powerful sound.

  • Its loud.
Not hard to install. My girlfriend helped me. Took like an hour. Buy the exhaust hanger remover tool. Nicely built

  • Excellent product
Love the sound of this system. It got louder after I drove the truck a couple hundred miles but still sounds great.

  • A lot louder than previous reviews would have insinuated
Just had installed on my 2019 Ram 1500...I was looking for a little more than the stock exhaust, but nothing crazy. Reviews suggested it was the right one, but I am surprised at how loud it is. It sounds great, but I'm not 18 anymore. It is quite a bit louder in the truck than outside of the truck also. It is a great exhaust, so I can't fault Borla, my 4 out of 5 is more aimed at the previous reviews than it is the exhaust sytem. ... show more
