I have a love hate relationship with cheaply made traffic advisors and such deck lights. They don’t feel beefy and typically the guts can be as flimsy as the exterior. For instance the Lamphus LED dash and deck units are really tough, and the hardware and internal executions are well planned. But I also like the fact that these units are NOT so heavy as they’re attached by suction cups. That kind of weight is nonexistent in the windshield mount which has held up without a hitch. While I LOVE the strobe selection I believe that the single unit version of this 12-LED strobe (which has 9 strobe patterns) is still a phenomenal unit with several patterns that I REALLY like, and hope that whoever manufactures these might utilize some of the pattern styles. One of the patterns remind me of the California steady flash, in which either the left or right side steady glows while the opposing side flashes. The pattern I love has a long steady flash that alternates from left to right, and it’s attention-getting. All of these 12LED units use focused TIR spot lenses which direct light output via Total Internal Reflection. It’s effective and IMHO, a NECESSARY component of these import traffic advisors, because the LED output is only one watt each. The spacing of each LED chip is distant enough that lens focusing of the light can enhance intensity in order for traffic down range to notice earlier. Word of advice: when equipping your POV, the use of multiple strobes in your vehicle helps others see from a longer distance that you’re operating. Mine started as a simple magnetic revolving 540-LED unit which is fine for roadside stops. But because I dispatch to front line events, I equipped my POV with deck, grille, visor, dash, side window, hideaway & traffic advisor units to engage while on active response to unfolding emergency scenes. When deployed, the combination along with a 100W air horn amplifier helps move traffic while safely dispatching. Observe local laws when installing as some jurisdictions ban the use of blue, red and white strobes (and even siren sounds). Such a traffic advisor stick like these two units focus lights downfield but drivers and pedestrians won’t see so quickly when they’re outside the focused field of illumination, so you might want to also look at units that flood the area. You’ll need different lights if you want to be seen, especially during daytime. And that’s where these also excel, I think you should consider these for your personal vehicle. ... show more

The lights are great. Definitely what I needed. Only thing Is the lights reflect off the windshield because the mounting brackets are not correct for the lights. To much space between the lights and the mounts.. as I said I love the lights they're great...I made a couple modifications to take care of the reflection. They're perfect. ... show more
