I ordered this a few weeks ago and waited to review once I had used the service for about 2 weeks. At first I was skeptical to use a service other than Verizon or another big cellphone service company, but now I am grateful I took a step out of my comfort zone and purchased this SIM card from Boost. - First off, the price is amazing for the service you get. I looked at other offers online and this is one of the cheapest 15GB plans out there. I knew I needed more data due to me traveling a lot and thought I would have to pay an arm and a leg, but with Boost I get the service without fretting over my monthly bill. - Shipping took about a day, true to the shipping information at checkout. - Once received, it came in a small amazon package and inside was the package as pictured in the Amazon listing. - The process was super simple to activate. I went to the boost mobile site and followed the steps to activate the SIM card and transfer my number. I was worried as this is the first time I have ever transferred my phone number, but the process was simple and easy. - BTW I have an iPhone 8+ that I have used for 3 years now. - The 5G speeds are great. I did not think there would be much of a difference from 4G, but the increase in speed is noticeable. Also, I get great Boost coverage in my area and have not had any coverage issues while traveling either. As I said, I was skeptical at firs but I am glad I purchased this SIM card.     • Boost customer support terrible would not activate

Purchased sim and attempted to activate via the boost website and app. Both failed to activate and advised to call customer support. Problem is they do not have a 24/7 call center. Had to call them the next day. Right there that is poor customer service. If my phone service was down I would want a company who is available to assist asap. Called them and the agent could not get the sim to activate in the boost system. She tried to escalate but her manager ran into the same issues. Luckily I was just getting this for temp phone service and was getting a new number. If I had attempted to port my number and lost it that would have been very bad. I have cricket as my main service and their customer support is top notch since fully backed by at&t. Cannot recommend boost mobile. I am returning the sim since their service doesn't work and their agents cannot activate it. ... show more

Super fast and simple activation, signal and data speed surprisingly fast and very reliable - I had no issues what so ever for the month I tested it out while traveling and needed another temporary line. I would absolutely recommend at least trying Boost via this extremely low cost trial and if it works out for you, the price really is right. ... show more

    • On the whole, solid but there are things to know

I read the reviews on this and it was a mixed bag, so I went into this knowing that I might run into issues with activating the sim card, being enrolled in autopay, or invalid sim id. One review mentioned to skip putting in card info for payment to avoid autopay. Worth trying, though that did not work out for me! Like many others, I went to activate the sim card, and I was directed to go to my nearest Boost Mobile Store to complete this process. I was not going to do that! I immediately went to the Boost customer support chat. The gentleman I worked with initially said something about the sim card plan not being paid for. I refuted this, informed him that I bought a prepaid card thru amazon. He asked if it had a specific plan. So I gave him that info (3 months, unlimited talk and text and 5gb data total). He then asked for the Sim card number (the iicd or iccid???) as well as my device imei (to check for compatibility). When he pulled it up, he said that the Sim card I purchased was a Retail Location Sim Card Plan (which I understood to mean that they are intended to be activated IN STORE, not by the consumer on their own, despite that Boost Mobile was the seller on Amazon here). Luckily he was able to process the activation. PAYMENT: Ok, he could not process the activation without payment information. I informed him that I DID NOT want to be enrolled in any kind of autopay. He assured me that after he activated the sim card, he would also remove the autopay enrollment as well as the card from the account. I asked him to verify before we finished, and I also received an email confirming this. After this point, even though it can take 24 hours to activate, the sim card was up and running in minutes. EMAIL: If you attempt to activate the card and are forced to chat with someone like me, then you will need to use a different email, because some of these cards are NEW CUSTOMER only deals. So that initial attempt essentially made me an existing customer even though I never had anything activated. Absurd! But be prepared for that possibility. Quick guide: 1) Be prepared to chat if the activation doesn’t work 2) Have 2 possible emails that you can use (one is back up in case activation fails on first go) 3) Whether you put in payment info, or Customer Service helps you with that, make sure to cancel autopay immediately if you do not want to have that! Tips: 1) if you have to talk to Customer Service, make sure they know you purchased a PREPAID sim card kit with a specific plan. It seems to matter and is not something they necessarily see unless they are pulling up the specific sim’s information. Customer Service was very helpful and worked quickly to get my phone up and running. Despite the challenges, for the price, this Sim card kit was absolutely worth it! This is a temporary solution for a family member, and while we’ve only had the service going for a day, it seems to be reliable enough so far. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Read my review, give me a thumb up and ignore the 1 star reviews. I bought this boost mobile 3 months deal for my iPhone 7. When I opened the package the SIM card was a little to big, so I had to cut it the same size as my AT&T SIM card. I putted my new SIM card in my phone and boost mobile showed up as my service provider. Scan the QR code on your packet or go to the Boost mobile website, press activate, press purchased from Amazon and then the 5 steps process will begin. Step 1. Enter the ICC ID which is on the back of your 5G boost mobile card in your packet. Step 2. Enter your IMEI number which is in your phone. Step 3. Keep your number or get new number. Step 4. Fill out your information like your name, address etc. but I repeat do not put in your credit card information, skip credit card information and pay pal and then press activate. Step 5. Go to the email you put on your account and you should receive an email from boost to activate account and your new phone number. It took me like 10 minutes to activate my phone, which included making phone calls, texting and using internet without Wi-Fi. I highly recommends this 3 months deal. ... show more
