I had fun crafting with this large roll of Loffa permanent outdoor vinyl that the website lists has good for wet environments, and mugs (so I’m assuming use on hot objects as well). The vinyl itself to my touch feels to be the same in feel as vinyls not listed as good for outdoor use. I cut a curly “OM” symbol design using a Cricut. For this vinyl, I choose “outdoor vinyl” which is a Cricut materials category choice. I decided to cut using “more” than default pressure. I don’t know if that was needed for not. This vinyl cut well, with no cutting of the backing paper. The vinyl weeded very easily, it transfers well and I’m happy with its performance. This vinyl is good value for money. Cost cutting by the vendor includes use of a generic white box to hold it. I’ve gotten into the habit of writing the brand, the type of vinyl info on the box, for future reference. This vinyl comes with a generic instruction sheet. Because crafting vinyl are almost indistinguishable commodities, I’ll focus on some very minor things good and bad. A good thing is that this large heavy roll comes wrapped in a large cellophane sheet that has excess length that can be tucked into each end of the cardboard tube, and the back side backing paper has a grid printed on it. I ‘m reusing this sheet to protect the roll and to keep it from unraveling and rolling on to the floor. A bad thing is, the short half inch length of brown tape used to hold this new unopened roll of vinyl together was so sticky that when I tried to remove it to open the roll, it fell apart and left a sticky residue on the vinyl. I then had to use time to use some rubbing alcohol to remove that sticky substance with a cotton swab. The alcohol affected the area I swabbed. So I flipped my cut piece of vinyl around on the cutting mat to avoid that spot. This is not the end of the world, but for a commodity product, it shouldn’t be distinguished from another product by an ensuing hassle no matter how small. Since I already have a few rolls of matte black vinyl on-hand, I picked up this roll of gloss black vinyl to include in my inventory options. The vinyl roll comes in a lengthy 50 feet, which should provide plenty of material for an assortment of vinyl cut projects. The width is 12 inch which can handle most small cutting uses and decals. The color is a pleasing, gloss black. I didn't see any specifications about the construction of the film, yet I would bet that the vinyl is manufactured using a cheaper calendared process rather than cast. Just something to keep in mind if expecting the film to conform to compound curves (it won't, at least without shrinking back eventually). Overall, this vinyl is a great general purpose film for vinyl cut decals on smooth, flat or simple curved surfaces. Seems very similar to other unbranded permanent vinyl I've tried. Maybe they are all the same? Anyway, I found it cuts nicely and I was able to make some of the most detailed cuts yet using this vinyl. I've got the knife offset, pressure, and speed dialed because the only limiting factor was the release agent and my ability to weed tiny details. The release is very easy, borderline too easy for fine details but I'm really testing the limits of what I can actually weed anyway. I'm using very fine point tweezers and magnifiers for some of the cuts I made with this stuff. This vinyl is just the right thickness and stiffness for fine detail cuts. It's a little thinner and stiffer than other name brand vinyl I've used so it's more suitable for harder and flatter surfaces. Adhesion to smooth surfaces is very good. This black is glossy, not flat. It feeds smoothly in our Cricut Maker 3 and makes nice clean cuts. The adhesive is quite strong enough, maybe more than the name-brand, and sticks well to a variety of surfaces. This feels more like plastic than traditional vinyl. I couldn't get it to weed smoothly on more detailed images. Even simple images took some doing. It's a great value if you have a lot of easy images to make. My Cricut is set at 107 x4, and I had to run this through three times just for the simple cuts shown. I'm sure there are better settings that I could use, but these are the settings I always use. I also tried this in red. ... show more

    • A nice option for a woodworker's glue ups.

I didn't get this for it's intended use. Instead I got it to prevent wood glue from sticking to an assembly table. It works like a charm. It doesn't stick super great to the wood table top but well enough so it doesn't fall right off but can easily be removed when the time comes to replace it. Wood glue doesn't stick to it so there's no risk of your glued up project sticking to something it shouldn't after the glue dries. If needed I could put a staple in each corner to help hold it down. I know it's not the intended use and it might not help those who want to use it to make decals but if you can think outside the box just a bit I bet you can find a use for it too. ... show more
