Don't be shamed with scratches on your sofa. Mine had a lot of it made by my kids and dog. This leather repair kit really helped with it. The kit offers five tubes of gels in different colors. They can be mixed to match the color of the sofa. It's not hard to do, but just requires some patience. The consistency of the gels is watery. You only need to gently brush for a few times to flatten out the gel on the surface. The gel dries quickly in room temperature. It's best to leave it for 24 hours before sitting on it. Admittedly I am not good with crafts - projects involving small paint brushes, color matching, cutting fabrics to fit in small areas. With that being said, you’ll understand my review. A leather repair kit is like a craft kit. This one comes with predominantly black as the color with a tube of white product to help with matching shades of black. Other items include several small brushes and a few different fabric patches. My purpose for using this kit is that a car seat developed a small tear in a seam. It is a well documented problem with this car over time. I figured the most economical way to fix would be using a repair kit like this one. After preparing the surface I went to work, first stuffing fabric in the tear, then using a small brush to fill in the gaps. This is the part I do poorly. I’m very clumsy and not good with fine details using paint. Unfortunately my work looks very sloppy, but I have not yet finished refining the repair. I was waiting to see if it would need more product to build it up. I’m not expecting much improvement. As far as maintaining the integrity of the repair, the product appears to be adhering to the repair. The procedure is: 1- Prepare the site. It must be clean. 2- Add fabric to the site. It needs to be under the tear and stuffed in. 3- Prepare the repair material. Add white to lighten 4- Using a brush apply small amounts to the site in layers 5- Fine tune your repairs 6- Enjoy your newly repaired seat. Let;s take a ride As you can see, my final product looks sloppy and I take full ownership of that. Still, Even though others might love it, they want my honest opinion and review, so while the kit works, it doesn’t work well for me. I’m simply too clumsy to make the best of this repair kit. Eventually I’ll need to recover. One last note: This is my opinion only, and it does not reflect the function by a more capable person.
