  • Writing Straight!
As the girlfriend of a US Marine Recruit, I write letters every single day. That being said, I want my letters to look pretty, which meant I wanted STRAIGHT HANDWRITING. This laser has helped me sooo much! I align the laser with the lines of a sheet of college ruled paper so I get a comfortable leading. Then, the laser rides the line over onto the (lineless) stationary I use for the letter. The laser line is nice and bright, has really good distance, and a very nice battery life. I have used this laser so much, and now my handwriting has improved and is starting to write more straight by itself. NOTE: I did remove the bottom spike thing because whatever that's supposed to be didn't make any sense at all no matter how I looked at it. Lol! ... show more

  • Great for Calligraphy
I cannot rate this as an actual leveler, as I have only used it to write in straight lines. I bought this in order to help me with my calligraphy projects so I don't have to keep drawing guidelines and then erasing them. The laser line is incredibly strong and makes it across the room.

  • Gets the job done with some effort
Its a cheap handy tool for me. It helps greatly with hanging photos and shelves. As other reviewers mention the little nail is in the way and pointless. They all mention its dumb to put an extra hole in the wall. What I do however is poke that hole where I want the first picture to go, then mark the rest of my spots. Then its not an added hole, its just where I put my first nail. The thing I don't like about it though is its not strong enough to hold the level in place. I cant place it on the wall and just walk down the line otherwise it swivels on its own or falls off the wall. The design would have been much better with a suction cup or something that holds better. ... show more

  • Not sure what the hub-bub about the "permanent nail" is
Some of the other reviews mention an immovable nail. . .not sure if they have the same product as they're reviewing because the base w/ the nail magnetically attaches to the level so its very simple to remove, and its even on a pivot so it can be tucked away. Great laser level have used it many times! ... show more

  • Good Unit, One Terrible Flaw
It gets the job done, and it's somewhat cheaper than other options. What I can't get my head around is why the nail on the underside is not removable. I don't always want to poke holes into my wall so this thing can swivel. Sometimes (most times), I just want to get a level value and extend that evenly across a wall so I can mark it with a pencil. The way this thing is designed, you have to swivel the bottom-side nail out and punch it into your wall. If you don't do this, the nail doesn't rest flush within the unit, and it prevents the unit itself from resting flush against the wall for your leveling tasks. ... This kind of renders it useless as you're left unable to rely on the leveling bubbles. Break the nail out. You'll be happy you did. After that, it works like a charm. Still, such a flawed design deserves mention. ... show more

  • Dissapointed!
I had high hopes for this laser level! I purchased this to use in a wall that I was painting chevron stripes. I wanted all my angles to be consistent throughout the stripes. The laser itself is very bright and easy to see (even in a well lit room). The problem is the level itself seems to be too heavy for the magnetic base. This causes the level to shift on its own. Maybe the nail needs to be longer? The other problem is when you're using the dial piece of the base, it turns with the level instead of you being able to turn just the level. You're not able to get the angle to an accurate degree. If you need a laser level for verticals or horizontal lines only, this one would be fine (providing it don't move) but if you need to adjust the level for angles, you can not rely on it. ... show more

  • Pretty accurate
This laser level is pretty handy. The wall tack is pretty small and doesn't leave a huge hole in the wall, and it's easy to draw vertical or horizontal levels. If you want a specific angle like a 45, you have to set your 0° with the dial on the wall mount and from there it's not very hard at all. If the laser is drawing a weak line, sometimes you have to readjust the mount, but I haven't had many issues with this tool yet. Also the level bubble lights up when you turn on the laser, which is fine, but I doubt I'll end up drawing a lot of lines in the dark.. ... show more

  • Extremely veristile!
Works great! I’ve been using it to hang photos in my apartment and also for my bullet journal, hand lettering and calligraphy. Great alternative to drawing pencil lines and then erasing them afterwards.
