I own about 30 pairs of Birkenstocks but this is my first vinyl/plastic one. Bought it to use while im gardening- side developed a tear after just a couple of weeks and the arch support is not as good as my other birkenstocks, almost non-existent.     • Great, light weight summer slides with arch support
Ive always loved the comfort of Birkenstocks but these are my first pair of EVA type ones. Fit: I usually wear an 8 or a 7.5 wide in shoes. The 38 was a good fit. Initially I was a bit concerned about the top being too snug and I didn’t want to put the strap in the last hole (yes, I am vain). However, they loosened up while wearing them in hot weather and now they are perfect. If you don’t have the luxury of hot summer days, you could probably warm them up with a hair dryer to get the same effect. Style: The Madrid style makes my wide hobbit feet look nice enough for me to wear them all day. I wish it came in more fun colors. I am not too wild about the metallic sheen on most colors, but it elevates the green ones. People complement me on them all the time Comfort: My high arches are super happy that I switched from flip flops to Birkenstocks. While I prefer the more expensive birkoflor models, the EVA version lets me take them to the pool and beach and I can rinse them under water. I would definitely recommend them, especially if you travel a lot, as these barely weigh anything. ... show more

These sandals are designed for unisex. For that reason if you are a woman with the narrow feet they will not fit you. Don't waste your time. Buy the ones that are specifically made for women and are labeled "Narrow".

To start I have cervical spinal injuries bad! I live in my Birkenstock’s all summer . I used to run 50 miles a week . Bones are so brittle now my left foot is wide as it flattened . So wide enough is so important . I waited 3 yrs to buy as I wanted to make sure of fit and width . There like any other Birkenstock Arizona fit . I love love them . Why I finally noticed in online ad is if you are in lower size they are narrow but like myself a 46 ( size 13) it’s the normal fit . I am glad I went with them worth it . Even better no breaking in . I used to have planter fasciatsis and a heel spike . When my feet paralyzed I could break them in. These take no breaking in amd so comfy . Also why I get Birkenstock is they don’t slide on surfaces ! ... show more

My husband has wide feet, but we thought with the adjustable straps these would fit. Unfortunately they’re a little uncomfortable and no “wide size” is available in a 13-13.5. He just uses them for the pool now, but can’t really walk around in them with out being uncomfortable.

    • Finally, a waterproof version of my beloved Birkenstocks

I have worn Birkenstock sandals for years. Decades really. I suffer from plantar faciitis at times and these are the only brand of sandals I can wear that will keep that in check. My only complaint ever was that Birkenstocks don't wear well when wet. Enter Birkenstock Essentials EVA! I gather I'm a but behind the times and these have been around a bit, but they are new to me this year. I had to have a pair. I loved them so much, I talked my 3 kids and husband into Essentials EVA sandals. At the price point, they were cheaper than any sandals out there with decent support. Everyone but my son loves them (he's 11 and still adjusting to supportive shoes). My husband loved them so much he had to order a 2nd pair when he realized he'd left his at a hotel. I have one issue with the shoes and I'm convinced it's me, not the shoes. I have issues with them sticking to my feet unless I am in wet conditions. So does my son. BUT, speaking for myself at least, I have that issue with ANY waterproof shoe (why I didn't take any stars). I bought the Arizona style myself and I think that design adds to my stick age issue. Next time, I plan to get a Gizeh pair. I think they'd be better for my sticky feet 😉. And there will be a next time! ... show more

I have arthritis in my feet and ankles. I go swimming and my Birkenstocks get wet and get ugly. I found these completely by accident and glad I did. I use them when I go swimming and even use them more than that. They are just like my regular Birkenstock. Just one word of caution. Because the material is good in resisting water, when I get out of the pool, put them on, I am dripping all over the place and in the shoes. They become a bit slippery but I still feel better with the support walking to the showers and then I just dry them, and all happy again. I am sure I find a way to work around this like maybe wiping my feet on a towel before I put them on....but just be careful if your feet are wet and you put them on because your foot will slide within the shooe -- but I still love them. ... show more
