The fit and feel are amazing. I have worn Birkies in the past with great success. I was worried about the EVA material, initially. To my surprise after trundling around Eugene and Springfield, Oregon for the past couple weeks, I am sold. What I love about these is the same thing I loved about Crocs when I first started wearing them. The weight is non existent and the comfort and fit is off the chart. I actually prefer them to the leather and cork Arizona. I'm not willing to give up my Crocs quite yet. If these Birkies wear as well as I hope, I might just consider it. BTW my son tells me that wearing socks with sandals is okay in Oregon. ... show more

I am pretty tough on my sandals. I am always breaking the tough strap so this is why I decided to go with this style. These have been nothing but amazing. They have withstood countless Cedar Point trips, water parks, the beach, the ocean, etc. These have been my new daily shoes. They are so easy to clean off. They feel a lot like Crocs, which I really love. I have been wearing these shoes hard for the last month and they look pretty much new. Overall, I am happy with them. I have large, wide feet and these are a great fit. The shoes are plastic but look good. German quality. I have not tried on Birkenstocks in decades and they take some getting used to. The instep is hard and presses into parts of your foot that are tender. If I can wear these I'll get a more expensive pair. I'm hoping to get some relief from foot pain, e.g. metatarsalgia. Meanwhile they provide lots of room and make decent water shoes. I just hope they don't make me eat arugula and drive a Volvo... ... show more

I originally bought a pair for my hubby and he didnt like how much support there was in them. I tried his on and thought I would love them. So I ordered my size and I was right! I love them! I love the support and how light and comfortable they are.

Not sure why it took me so long to find these...they are great. They have great arch support (the hallmark of birkenstock) and are super light. I wear them a little more tight (and the straps allow adjustments) so when I lift my foot they stay right on my foot sole. I wear them for the gym, gardening and any other use around the house, I wear them outside too - but they are not exactly business casual. I did wear them during replacement of my roof and promptly stepped into a nail - the sole does provide you some warning that something is about to poke through, but it did not prevent the inevitable - no complains, was my own stupidity. The material is a bit shiny and they do squeak like hell when wet from water or sweat, and in the case of water (not sweat) they do loose a bit of their otherwise great anti-slip tread and support. I am on the heavy side and wear them constantly, so they did wear out after about 6-8 months, which is unusually fast for Birkenstock shoes in general. I don't think they would work as beach shoes. Just bought my second pair and I am tempted to try the neon yellow next ... show more

It has recently become mandatory for me to have arch support. I love the feel/support of the Birkenstock Arizona sandal and the EVA make it excellent for watering the yard, washing the car, or other wet activities. Probably still not as comfortable or supportive as the original cork footbed, this is head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to foot health. Very non-slip tread make it feel more secure then flip flops on my shop floor when it gets wet. And, although my foot isn't strapped in, the footbed makes the sandal feel very secure on my foot. Perfect blend of durable material and proper design. Will save a LOT of money replacing water deteriorated cork beds in original Birks. ... show more

OK they are plastic but that's what the listing says they are. Not as nice as the all leather Birkenstocks but these are about one quarter the price. I find them to be comfortable and well made.
