  • works good
Color: Black
my husband has been wanting a nice pair of binoculars for a while now so he was excited to get these in the mail. we use them for a variety of things from hunting, bird watching, or just when we go to the national state parks we visit every few months. in our area we live we see lots of different hawks, vultures and such so me the husband and kids love being able to see them without being closer. we live near the mesa verde state park and this work great to see off in the distance all the housing in the sides of the hills makes it a lot cooler. my husband says they will be really good for when he goes out hunting as well and is on his tree stand as last year, he lost his other pair. these ones are pretty lightweight, but not as compact as i thought they would be, they say compact, but they are a little bigger than i thought they would be but also just a good size for us to be able to keep in our car or a backpack. i don't really like the carrying bag it came with as i feel like its not going to protect it from much especially with how crazy our kids are. the Lense covers are nice though to keep the lenses nice and clear at all times no dust or dirt . for the just of it they work great for what we have used them for and are a nice pair all in all. ... show more

  • Simple - Decent Quality - Easy to Use
Color: Green
I ordered these binoculars for use around our retirement home in another state. Our home is in a wooded area on the edge of a small town. We have quite a few deer, pretty birds, squirrels, racoons, and other small animals I enjoy watching. I own another set of decent-quality Bushnell Porro Prism binoculars for years which I’ve been satisfied with but they are only 10 x 50 magnification where these are supposedly twice the magnification. What I like about these binoculars: - These binoculars are the same physical size as my older Bushnell binoculars. However, these weigh it at 22.4oz or 1.4lbs. My other binoculars are heavier at 2lbs. You wouldn’t think that would make much difference but you can definitely feel the difference. I really like the balance of these binoculars. - The binoculars have great color fidelity. The 50mm objective lens pulls in ample light to keep the scene bright and clear. The Field-of-View (FOV) is stated as 168ft at 1000yds. I don’t have a good way of testing that specification. I’m a bit confused by the 20x magnification claims, however. I compared these binoculars against my Bushnell 10 x 50 binoculars in reading the license plate on a vehicle which I measured at 450ft away from my house. I had to stabilize both views against the window frame I was using. Although the license plate was readable with both sets of binoculars, the numbers appeared more clearly and slightly larger using my older 10 x 50 binoculars than on these new 20 x 50 HD binoculars. Additionally, one of the pictures on the Amazon advertisement states “Make Full Use of 8X Magnification Large Image.” That doesn’t seem to make sense because they are advertised as 20 x 50 binoculars which means the magnification should be 20X. - The binoculars seem well-built. I love the color contrast of the green and black. The green rubber material soft and non-slip and they are easy to hold. There were no cosmetic defects. The binoculars are very easy to adjust and work exactly as they should. All 3 adjustments (body, center focus wheel, and right eyepiece with the diopter scale) operate smoothly. Other: The binoculars came with an inexpensive fabric case barely large enough to hold the binoculars, 4 rubber covers to protect the lenses which fit nicely, a cheap strap, a cleaning cloth, and an instruction sheet in 6 different languages. For those who haven’t used binoculars, there’s a well-written couple of sentences on proper focusing of binoculars. Also, the instruction sheet said you can fold down the eye cups for use with glasses to provide viewing ease. I tried to fold them down but with no success – the rubber was too hard and the eye cups were too short to fold. Fortunately, that was not an important feature for me. Summary: Although I’m confused about the true magnification of these binoculars, they still offer a great value for the cost. They are inexpensive, light-weight, well-balanced, and appear well-built. They will be great for my intended use and I am happy to own them. I’m rating these 4-stars due to the issues mentioned above. I hope my review and comments are useful. ... show more

  • Inexpensive and good
Color: Green
I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on binoculars that I was taking on a cruise vacation. These are pretty lightweight and very good clarity. Happy with my choice. They worked just fine.

  • Misrepresented
Color: Black01
Hanklenss, the seller of these “20” x 50 Professional High Magnification HD Compact Binoculars for Bird Watching, etc” has earned three stars from me because they have claimed their item to be of a higher measurement power and quality than it really is. Why they drop into the description other numbers such as 8 and 10, I do not understand. But the primary part of the ad, the eye-catching part, and even the inside box the binos come in, is not true. In fact, I use my late Dad’s Binolux 7 x 35 binos from the 1950s-60s, and these new ones are no more effective than my old ones. Read other reviews here for more technical explanations. These Hanklenss binos do have very clear lenses that let in lots of light. They feel quite large to me (“compact?”) but are lightweight for the size. The adjustment wheels move cleanly and comfortably, but I would prefer the eyecups to roll down because of my eyeglasses. Adjusting to use without my glasses works pretty well at least, though not perfectly. These are inexpensive binoculars but I wish the manufacturer and the seller would be more honest about what they can do. There’s one more issue on my mind. I’m planning to watch birds and small animals, fireworks, tall architecture and bridges, etc. I am not a soldier going to bivouac, not a Boy Scout going mountaineering, and I’m not a hunter. I don’t really want my new binoculars to be Army Green. I ordered black, I got olive drab. I returned them and asked for black. I was sent, without any explanation, olive drab. If the reader orders black binos, don’t expect to get black binos. ... show more
