  • Easy Install
Style: TFT35 E3 V3.0.1
There are detailed instructions on BTT github to set up Marlin 2 so all the dependencies are enabled, and the display fired right up first try. I did not update the display firmware yet, as the oem fw works out of the box to get started. I'm using the SKR V1.4 Turbo motherboard. The old-style ribbon cables are still connected along with the UART wires, as the display can switch back and forth from touch screen mode to legacy text mode. Colors of the legacy mode are adjustable with background and font choices. Various themes for the touch screen mode are available, and the icons can be edited to suit your needs. When you change the SD Card to Onboard in Marlin you end up with three ways to access g code programs, SD at display, USB at display, and motherboard micro SD. Touch screen function is not available when using legacy display mode. My only gripe is the touch response, as it is not at all sharp and snappy. I often get a double-tap effect because I have to tap and tap and tap and hold for a bit and eventually it clicks but gets the next screen button too. I'll try a touch stylus to see if that helps response, and there's a calibration routine that came up by accident once but upside-down. Had to reboot to get rid of it. On reboot the display claims there's no printer attached for a few seconds then it clears and all is well. The display can use 250000 or 115200, selectable on the display settings. The first time I ran bed leveling it ran twice because I accidentally double tapped the button. The buttons just send G-code commands so the code runs sequentially as always. Manual axis moves will go plus and minus, but the button response makes it less fun. If the touch screen response doesn't improve I'll run legacy mode and print from there. One telling remark I read was that in UART mode the motherboard sees the connection as another computer, just like a pc hookup to the usb port. The display has sockets for wifi module, filament runout, power monitor and control, and extra UARTs for whatever. The product appears well made and the screen is straight. I'm designing a new box to suit my printer layout. This product has the best help sources ever. https://github.com/bigtreetech/BIGTREETECH-TouchScreenFirmware https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57f-sG0nFeM Edit: after calibrating the touch panel it works a lot better, but a stylus for TS works best, and no fingerprints. The control box is my design, and the purple thing is a base full of bb's and epoxy. ... show more

  • 3rd time is not the charm
Style: TFT35 E3 V3.0.1
I have purchased a LOT of bigtreetech's boards, lcds, and tmc drivers. I just received a tft35 v3.0 with a loose lcd screen. Everything works but the lcd is ready to fall off. I am done with BTT merchandise. This is the 3rd lcd I have purchased that was bad. I got three weeks of service from one unit before it quit. I have three skr boards in the junk pile that have some sort of problem with each. NOT HAPPY!! When I try to reach out to support I get no answers from anyone. ... show more

  • This feels like a ‘beta’ project that isn’t finished
Style: TFT35 E3 V3.0.1
I ordered this because I wanted to be able to navigate my printer menus quicker, and easier, with color. In achieved those needs. However I began noticing little design features that I didn’t care for. Somethings seemed a bit loose. Other things didn’t seem refined or quite finished. I had multiple issues with this touchscreen in combination with other things I had set up on my printer such as Octoprint print server, time remaining on prints, etc.. I also had multiple issues where the printer wouldn’t connect or wouldn’t function at certain points. Sometimes it would get stuck and wouldn’t flip back to touch mode. It’s just not a great product. I ended up uninstalling and going back to stock after a couple of months of forced use. ... show more

  • Good product, but lack of process quality control
Style: TFT35 E3 V3.0.1
I bought this BTT TFT35 E3 V3.0 screen to retrofit my CR-10S 3D printer, which uses the same12864 LCD screen of the Ender 3 (E3 in the model name). The product itself is really good, easy to install, and even easier to flash the firmware. I spent about half a day to tweak it and make sure it would work with my CR-10S stock board allowing me to control it from the LCD menus. After getting everything ready to go, it was time to put it in the control box. Everything felt in place, screws were aligned. The only thing I had to do was to flip the board connectors to match the ribbon cables orientation. All the excitement was gone when I turned it around just to see that the screen was crooked and misplaced. After some digging, I found out that this is a recurring issue with this screen. At first, I thought it could be the control box LCD cut out (very unlikely). Then I designed a new cover test based on the specs and dimensions from the BTT website. Same problem. This is way too disappointing... I would give this a 5 star but, since overall appearance is also important to me since I am paying for it, I decided to give it 3 stars only. ... show more

  • favorite display for e3
Style: TFT35 E3 V3.0.1
i love these. this one is now on a friend's printer. he was not sure, but when he saw it was like ok. i need this.. these do require you to custom compile marlin 2 to use touch screen options as they talk serial to main board. aka rx/tx after you have that option turned on it'll talk to your board perfectly disregard the bad comments. got three fully functional installs and love all three. ... show more

  • Like the screen, but USB port DOES NOT WORK
Style: TFT35 E3 V3.0.1
The media could not be loaded. I really like the features it add, such as easier movement of the motors and such. Quicker UI in general. But, was extremely frustrated and disappointed to learn that the USB port is not functioning properly. The video attached was from BEFORE we figured out the issue. This has been reported by a few people online. We've tested multiple dongles and cross checked the GCODE on other devices. Also, it works if the GCODE is placed on the Micro SD Card and inserted into an SD Card adapter, but not with the Creality provided USB adapter. Also, using MERLIN, the mainboard MicroSD port still works fine with the same GCODE. There is zero question: the USB port that is defective. I would like my display replaced ASAP. ... show more

  • Buyer beware
Style: TFT35 E3 V3.0.1
I received the product damaged, when I tried to use it, it would overheat. I tried to reach out to the company and they were very rude. I would not recommend purchasing this item.
