    • A Toolbox You Can Pass Down to Your Grandkids
As a dad, I sometimes look around my garage and wonder what types of things I'll be able to pass on to my kids like my grandpa did for us. It's a bit of a cliche that nothing is built like it used to be, but this seems to be a rare exception to that rule. It really is built like a tank and seems to be built to last for decades. It is not a lightweight tool box by any means and that is a very good thing. Since this is meant to be able to hold a fair number of heavy tools, it's good that it is likewise heavy. This helps with durability of course, but also with balance as you wouldn't want it to tip over when the drawers are pulled out with heavy tools in them. This isn't a toolbox with a bunch of gimmicks or technology. It's just a very simple, very nice looking toolbox that is easy to use, easy enough to carry, and is just the right size.     • Almost perfect
This is an extremely nice all metal tool box that could easily endure for generations. It's no toy even if the latches look a bit cheap. The rest of the unit is impressively well built and rather heavy. It's got a folding grab handle on top, but once loaded I doubt that anyone would want to carry it very far, lightweight portability it not among its features. It's attractive and looks like what it's meant to be. It's also functional, up to a point. In my opinion a tool box of this size and loaded weight should have a lift-out tray under its hinged lid for frequently used tools or for carrying various tools specific to the task at hand. The box that I received did not include a tote and thus I've awarded it only four stars when otherwise it would have clearly been a five. Mine arrived in perfect condition with neither a dent or scratch, but I'm not sure that would always be to case. Foam protects the ends and the top, but only the box covers the rest and that could lead to returns. Aside from the tray issue, I'm completely satisfied and more than a little impressed by this imported tool box. It's as good as any you'll find if you can get by without a fancy name plate. ... show more

    • Upgrade to my Craftsman toolbox
This is an upgrade to my old Craftsman 3-drawer toolbox. The dimensions are exactly the same as my Craftsman 3-drawer toolbox. It's identical in every way except this has ball-bearing drawer slides making it much better. I like to keep my most frequently used tools in this smaller toolbox on the workbench so I don't have to run back and forth to my large toolbox. I was really getting annoyed by the slides on my old Craftsman toolbox constantly getting jammed up whenever I went to open and close the drawers but no such issue with this one. The ball-bearing slides on this are so smooth, it's a pleasure to use. This was a nice upgrade and I didn't have to rearrange any tools as it's the exact same dimensions as the Craftsman toolbox it replaced. ... show more

I have never owned one of these large toolboxes before, so some of my concerns may be because of inexperience. Overall, this product is what it is. The top and drawers all open and close the same as any toolbox. The paint seems pretty good, the drawers slide well and there's plenty of space (one thing to note, though, is no drawer has a partition). It's something I'm going to use and I hope to be happy with it. For the uninitiated, though, the one thing that concerns me is the strength and durability of the hardware, specifically the silver parts riveted to the box. I uploaded photos. This toolbox is quite heavy without tools in it. With tools it just seems to me that the total weight would require heavier duty hardware and rivets than the ones I see on this toolbox. All of the weight is bearing on fairly few and small rivets, which makes me concerned about long term durability. Maybe I'm wrong; maybe the construction doesn't need to be more, and what we have here is pretty normal. I will update, if needed. ... show more

    • Decent, inexpensive tool box. Will be replacing the duckbill hasps, they seem a bit flimsy
This is a nice little toolbox. While it's definitely not a professional grade box, as the sheet metal is "just thick enough" It seems rather well made, except for the latches. They seem a little underwhelming, and a bit flimsy. I'm going to replace them with something better. The drawers work as advertised and lock securely. This would be a nice toolbox to keep some equipment in the truck out on the jobsite, but I would not use it on the jobsite on a daily basis. It's just not for that purpose. If you have a young'un just getting out on their own and you want to give them a good toolbox to keep a starter set of tools in, this would be great. Want to have a basic set of tools to work on the car, do jobs around the house, or sit on top of a tool cart? Bob's your uncle. The latches are it's big Achilles' heel, but they can be replaced for under $10. This is a much better choice than many of the plastic tool boxes for sale. This is a good box for home garages and workstation tools. The drawers have a good, positive "feel" when fully closed to the locking position (some other brands don't). The drawer slides are good. It's construction is heavy enough to last with reasonable use. The top handle and its attachments seem a bit light for carrying while the box is full. The drawers already have soft liners in place! With proper care, this box will last a long time. ... show more

What's not to like about this tool box. Looks good, sturdy, 3 drawers, and PLENTY of space! I love it and highly recommend it to anybody looking for a tool box.

    • nice box, well made, weak handle
This toolbox seems well made of 22 gauge sheet metal. All welds seems good and the paint has no misses. The slides are adequate and have release levers so they are easy to remove. The clasps had some sharp edges that will easily be fixed with some sandpaper. The only thing that bothers me is that the handle is made of plastic and held on with two metal straps riveted to the top. I don't trust the small rivets used to attach the straps and I expect that when full of tools the handle is going to be too weak or the rivets break or pull out - I suppose time will tell. Fortunately, the packing was adequate as it was not double boxed. There were several holes in the box from shipping roughness, but the box itself was in foam end-caps so nothing was damaged. ... show more
