  • Okay
Color: Ergonomic Rubber(Black)
Item is great. Other than me getting two left grips and no right grip

  • Comfortable and very firm
Color: Rubber Black/Grey
I had to send these back for two reasons. I like these grips with the palm support but after my specialized brand wore out from sun rot, I haven't been able to find a pair that work with bar ends. They also went back because I was sent two right hand units instead of a pair. The shipping error has no bearing on my ratings. Things happen and Amazon has always made things right in these types of events. The engineering is very clean and tight. The texture is even and well defined and they slipped on and tightend up easily with the INCLUDED hex key/allen wrenches. The whole grip is hard plastic--there is no sense of trying to add shock absorption. The other side of this is that the wing that holds up your outer hand is also firm and provides a high level of support. Given the engineering and support given the price, as long as you understand that they are not super cushiony, I think they would be a good choice for rider looking for ergo support grips. ... show more

  • solid, comfortable grips
Color: Rubber Black/Grey
I've been using a premium-brand ergonomic grip (see pictures) for years and noticed these for a fraction of the price. They're not exactly the same, as these have little horns to stop your hands from slipping off, and a different clamp system. These also don't have sizes and equate with the smaller-diameter name brand size. Mounting the grips is not hard. The grips slide on, though they can only be positioned at the end of the br, with a 1cm overhang. There's an aluminum clamping ring on the inner size with a fairly small hex bolt - tighten this with care. On the ends there's a plug assembly which is essentially an rubber-core expansion bolt which grips the bar from the inside. The bolt also locks into notches in the rubber grip to prevent it from rotating. It will take quite a lot of torquing on both ends to secure the grip so it doesn't rotate. I was especially concerned about the Ring's bolt because it's small and I've snapped those before. I'd much rather have used a torque wrench, though no torque specs were included. How good are they? Well they're good - close enough that you should consider these if you want ergonomic grips for less cost. The horns are a little odd and tend to point your hands inward, though I guess they'd add security, especially if they're wet. I do wish they had a larger size because that helps with pressure on my palms. ... show more

  • Excellent Looking Grips
Color: Rubber Black/Grey
The grips are excellent from my old-school hybrid bike. I am reconditioning the bike to provide it to my oldest son. This is just one component I'm replacing. I like the grip comfort and the easy of mounting the grips securely. The gray and black color fit perfectly with my gray colored bike. I would recommend these grips. ... show more

  • I like the ergonomics, but the material is very hard, doesn't help with cushioning or vibration
Color: Rubber Black/Grey
I'm no longer the trail rider I was once but I still like long rides with my family on mostly paved and packed dirt paths and trails and occasional single single-track trails. One of the things that I've wanted to try was to find a grip that had more palm support where I could rest my hands from gripping the handlebar. I think that addresses that but it comes with some caveats compared to my older grips which were round but very grippy and had a soft cushioning grip. I angled these grips so that when I'm seated at my normal seat height, my wrists are more straight from my elbow down to my fingertips in hopes of relieving wrist pain after riding. I also needed to rotate the brake and shifter to fix the alignment. I don't particularly like the how the bar end is installed, it's an odd configuration of a screw, lock washer, a nut and a rubber bushing that expands when you tighten the allen head screw. It took quite a bit of effort to install it requiring some dish soap on the rubber for lubrication and a rubber mallet to pound it in to my handle. Because this bar end cap's fit is very tight, it makes it difficult to rotate the angle of your grip without distorting the grip itself. After some trial and error with a combination of an allen wrench and slow rotation of the grip, I was able to get to the angle I wanted. I then secured the aluminum collar to prevent the grip from shifting and finally tightened up the bar end. Aside from the slight trouble installing the grip, the grip itself is contoured and textured for better grip but it is hard and doesn't offer much if any cushioning. It does address the ergonomics I was looking for though. ... show more

  • Decent but...
Color: Rubber(Brown)
I have a nice set of ergo grips on my bike. They fit all the descriptives in this listing perfectly. Unfortunately, I'm never satisfied and ordered this set for 3 reasons. 1. The color 2. The description and shape match what I already have and enjoy. 3. I found the indexing feature pictured in all the images interesting and useful. First THE GOOD: The color and grip design matches the images. They seem to be good quality and the clamps look as pictured. They even come with the tool in case you don't have one. The BAD: 1. If I were writing the listing for these grips I would describe them as firm, stiff, and rigid. 2. Not mentioned in the listing but shown visually is the indexing. It shows "Top" on the inner clamp where the top should be with several index markers to each side, front of bar to rear of bar. This would make a great reference for making angle adjustments to find the perfect fit. Anyway, in production, the inner sleeve is somehow molded in roughly 1/4 turn off. This in turn makes the alignment of the index ring roughly a 1/4 turn off. Installed properly, the index is facing down and away rendering it nearly useless and visually unappealing. So in short, 3 stars if I was being kind but 2 stars for deception on description and quality control. ... show more
