I find this set quite adequate for my artworks. I am not a professional or schooled artists and most of my works are for my enjoyment or as sketches to give to friends. I'll say if you are looking for a set of freestyle or casual markers these will do you just fine. I spoke with a friend who does take his art to the professional level and he told me the only reason he will not consider these is because the bleed through and he is unsure of the archival quality of the ink. They do bleed through quite a bit so putting a sheet under your work is probably best. They do not streak and they coat evenly. The colors are not overly saturated and you get a fair deal of variety in color allowing for more shading and texturing options than your average set. They also play well with other markers and will not cause the liners ive used to bleed in anyway. Also for the price you can't go wrong. at less than .50 a marker its hard to not even give these a run through. I like the packaging as well. It is resealable and there is an additional hollow area where I keep a 2H pencil, Eraser and 3 copic liners. You can also go to bic's website and order individual colors if you run dry on certain colors. The re-stocks are $1 each and take awhile to arrive but i find its worth the wait. I hate having to buy a whole new set just to get that grey I keep running dry. The markers last very long if you cap them promptly after use. These are my favorite markers to color with! I even have alcohol markers and like these better! A tad expensive in my opinion, but I love the color variety and the smooth way they fill in a space. UPDATE: I loved these markers the first time I bought them. They filled spaces so nicely. It felt like I was using expensive markers, not something so affordable. The picture on the left was colored with the first set I bought. The picture on the right was just completed with the second set I bought. I see a big difference! They felt very different too. The new ones felt dried out. The tips were harder. The color didn’t flow. I felt the need to press harder on the paper. There is hardly any streaking on the page colored by the first set, but there was major streaking in all of the spaces that were bigger than my finger. I find the difference astounding and very disappointing. 😞 ... show more

My go to markers for my adult coloring books. I love that they have 3 tones of the different colors, it makes for good shading effects. The color comes out on the page slightly darker than is ends up being once it is completely dry. The ink colors smoothly and there is very little if any streaking unless you are coloring a large area and even then is minimal. I have been able to blend colors together by coloring darker over lighter tones while the lighter ink is still damp, but you have to be quick since it dries fairly quickly. I will say the color indicators, the clip, barrel band and end tip, on the pens themselves are not an accurate match to the ink on paper. No two colors are exact matches but some are very close, the darkest greens and the berry and the plum come to mind. Some of the light tones could be lighter, but compared to similar types of markers I am happy to have them. The ultra fine tips are good for most fine details, however like most alcohol markers they do bleed some. So you do have to be careful getting close to the lines as they could spread color beyond the line. They will definitely bleed through to the other side of the page on any of the paper i have had in a coloring book. I don't use them in books that have images on both sides of the page. I don't count this as a negative because it is the nature of the coloring medium not just this specific brand. The tri-fold storage container works really well form and helps to keep them organized and protected. It is sturdy and in the several months of regular use has not shown any wear and tear yet. I have also used Sharpie ultra fine point markers and I like the Bic better for range of color and smoothness in application, that said they are vary similar. I have a 24 set of the Sharpies that does have a few colors not in the Bic set, most notably neon colors. If I could only have one set of markers, the Bic Mark-it Ultra Fine would be the set I would choose. I have attached a couple page I colored with the Bics. Order these so much. I color ever day and these are a life saver. Easy to use, long lasting. Can bleed through on surfaces, so I always put a scrap paper under any markers I use. Highly recommend. Cute colors and good value
