For those wondering if this headband will work for the DT880 edition given the metal parts protruding from the headphone sliders, it will! Not without great difficulty though, you'll need patience to disassemble, replace the headband, and reassemble the headphones. A warning too, the fit is a bit tight and thus makes reassembly + adjusting the headphones after reassembly more difficult. With this in mind, make sure the headphones are adjusted to where you'd like them before reassembly. Other than that, it works great and is like new.     • Hard to install, great quality and fits perfectly
I used this to replace the decaying plastic headband on my 7 year old DT-880 black special edition headphones. Mine do not have any apparent way to unscrew the headband assembly, so I just pulled out the old one, snapped on the new one, and then painstakingly stuffed the ends of the headband into the headphones. I genuinely thought it would not fit, but in the end it fits perfectly, looks great, and will clearly hold up better than the stock headband. ... show more

Isn't an exact replacement for my DT770 but the rubber/plastic cover is actually more durable than the original, which over time becomes very thin. Mine ripped after 10 years. I purchased this along with the Earcovers and my DT770 are like brand new again. The length is damn near perfect ad it fits snuggly. Solid. If I ever had to buy another one I would do so without hesitation but hopefully this will last for the remainder of my 770's life. ... show more

    • Takes some patience and persistence
Ultimately the headband works well. However, it is somewhat difficult to install and comes with no instructions. Installation requires some disassembly, and if you're not used to taking apart electronics it might be somewhat intimidating. I recommend finding a video about how to replace the head band before purchasing this. ... show more
