I recently replaced my living room flooring, and the dark wood coffee table looked out of place. Also, I’m a cheapskate, so I was looking as much at price as style. And this is what I bought. This is a nice looking coffee table with a lift-top on a couple hydraulic hinges. Inside is a storage are La, and below are three cubes. I really like that the legs are integral and run up the side of the table on each corner. At this price, I figured I would have to get legs that screwed into plates that will eventually tear out of the press board. Now, at this price, you aren’t getting solid wood. It’s pressed chip board with a laminate layer. For a coffee table, I actually prefer a laminate since it’s going to take a bit more abuse. Let’s talk about assembly. The instructions are straight forward, and can be accomplished by one person except maybe assembling the lift top the way they present. They have you put the hinges on then levitate the top over the body, line up the 16 screw holes, and insert the screws. I suggest placing the hinges in the body, then screw in the top from underneath. You run much less risk of the screws ripping the chip board. The only other caution is the step where you are building the three boxes underneath. Be careful or you will snap the dowels or potentially gouge the unfinished edge of the boards. As with all flatpack, I did use wood glue in and around the holes for the dowels to create a little extra strength in the finished product. ... show more

The box didn't come with directions so I had to reach out to the company directly to get them to email me a PDF of the instructions. Building the table took around 2-3 hours rather than the 45 minutes it says on the instructions. It also says that it is a 1 person build and you very much need 2 in order to hold things in place. Now that it's built, I am loving it! It looks great in the room, and I love that I can raise it to use as a TV tray when I want to eat dinner while watching my favorite show. ... show more

Exactly as described! Assembly took some time (Few hours) since I'm a beginner at furniture assembly but very self explanatory! Just pay attention to the orientation of the pictures and you should be all good! Some instructions stated to use a drill but I used a screw driver. I’ve spent hours trying to put this table together by myself. It’s been extremely difficult and nothing prepared me for how tedious this is. I’m finally almost all finished and then it broke. The fake wood splinter right off the nail that was supposed to be drilled into it. This is not my first rodeo. I’m pretty good usually at assembling and figuring things like this out but now I have a broken table that I can’t even use after all this never again. ... show more

Some of the holes for the screws were too small, couldn't even get them in with a drill, so we're just hoping the dowels and physics keep the kickboard on. To install the hinges, you'll definitely need one person to hold it while another person drills. The stickers to cover the cam locks were all wrinkled and crushed, and they're just falling off. It does look good, and the hinge works well, but it was the worst piece of furniture I've ever had to put together. The instructions have you basically assemble each piece one at a time, but it would go much faster if you read through the whole thing and just use your brain. ... show more
