    • Had to plug and unplug a couple times to get it in sync.
I bought 2 of these for a couple of servers connected to a KVM. It's just a text console so the bar isn't very high. Took me a bit of plugging and unplugging to get it to sync through the KVM to the monitor, but now it seems pretty solid, how well it recovers after a power outage will be the real test. What seemed to be the issue was that it needed to to reboot/reinitialize what ever chip it's using, since what fixed it was plugging and unplugging the USB connection (power for the chip assumedly). The fact that it took some futzing around to get it to sync initially doesn't give me a lot of confidence, and the servers in question are the first thing that needs to come up after a power outage (which happens here all too frequently). Given that it didn't just plug in and work straight out means it's really hard to give it a solid 5 star rating, it isn't without it's issues, but does seem to do the trick OK. I bought this particular cable because I have kind of the opposite product from them, HDMI computer to DVI monitor adapter, not exactly the opposite but similar-ish. Those have always worked flawlessly but I've recently replaced a whole bunch of monitors and KVMs, so my problems got swapped. Was: most of the computers were newer than the monitors, Now: most of the monitors are newer than the computers. The computers in question also have dual Display Port connections, which seemed like the obvious Plan A, but that didn't work at all. So this is a kludgy Plan B from the get go, and well seems to work far better than the Display Port computer connected to the Display Port capable monitor from the same manufacture, not sure what that's all about, but these cables seem to solve the problem that shouldn't exist. ... show more

    • Great for older computers paired with newer monitors
This cable is great and allows me to use a newer HDMI monitor with my old computer that has only VGA output. The USB connector also lets me pass audio to my monitor as a great added bonus since I have my speakers connected to the monitor. The picture quality is oh-so-slightly fuzzy but overall is very good for being converted from an analog to digital signal via the cable. Tip: if audio isn't working be sure to select "CS201" as your mixer device since it won't automatically selected when you plug in the USB connector. ... show more

    • Worked for a handful of times before shorting out
UPDATE: Contacted customer service directly and they resolved the problem ona timeline manner. They sent me a new cord with a protection plan. Very satisfied with how things were handled. I was in the process of trying to give a presentation. I give a presentation every week. Ended up giving about four presentations in total. On this last presentation, I was about to start and it stopped working altogether. If you wiggle it a little bit, the picture will show up briefly, but will not stay. I would say the quality of material is not very good. I took very good care of it each time I used it. I would roll it back up and put it in the original packaging. Very disappointed in overall product. I wish I would have known this within the 30-day return. I just want my money back. ... show more

I bought this VGA to HDMI cable to connect my old laptop to my TV. After a few days of use, I started hearing noise in the background when I turned on the laptop and then the TV. I'm dissatisfied with this purchase.
