  • Get Ready for a Twisted and Surreal Adventure with Bendy and the Ink Machine
Style: PlayStation 4
As a fan of horror and mystery games, I was immediately intrigued by Bendy and the Ink Machine on PlayStation 4. And let me tell you, this game did not disappoint! It is a twisted and surreal adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The game is set in an old animation studio, and you play as Henry, a retired animator who returns to the studio to find out what happened to his former colleagues. As you explore the studio, you uncover dark secrets and encounter terrifying monsters, all while trying to avoid the deadly ink that seems to be everywhere. The storyline is captivating and well-crafted, with a mix of horror, mystery, and humor. The game also features multiple chapters, each with its own unique setting and challenges, ensuring that there is always something new and exciting to discover. The graphics and sound design are also top-notch, with a retro animation style that perfectly captures the game's 1930s aesthetic. The game also features a haunting soundtrack that perfectly complements the game's eerie and unsettling atmosphere. The gameplay itself is a mix of puzzle-solving, exploration, and survival horror. The puzzles are challenging but fair, and the exploration is rewarding, with plenty of secrets and hidden areas to uncover. The survival horror aspect of the game is also well-executed, with a variety of monsters and traps that keep you on your toes. Overall, I highly recommend Bendy and the Ink Machine to anyone who loves horror and mystery games or just wants a unique and surreal gaming experience. It is a well-crafted and well-executed game that is sure to provide hours of entertainment. Get ready for a twisted and surreal adventure with Bendy and the Ink Machine on PlayStation 4! ... show more

  • Unplayable -- Beware the Lever Glitch
Style: Nintendo Switch
This game is actually quite beautiful and fun to play, but then the Lever Glitch happened and now I have no way to finish it. That's the only reason why I'm giving this one-star rating. I believe that when it becomes literally impossible to finish a game, the coders of the game have failed, and have broken one of the top game design rules -- you're not supposed to trap the player in a position where they can't get out. I'll update this review when and if a fix ever appears. What is the Lever Glitch -- you may ask? You can Google "Bendy Lever Glitch" and find plenty of people experiencing this exact issue -- but spoilers abound in those links. Here I will give you the non-spoiler version. In the last chapter, there is a room. You must pull a lever to open the door. As I entered the room, it proved to be difficult, so I took a break and quit the game. BIG MISTAKE! When I went back into the game, I was spawned outside the room with the door shut ... and the lever was already pulled down. So, it's impossible for me to pull the lever again to enter the room. No way to enter the room -- no way to finish the game. I tried restarting the chapter, but no dice -- saves appear to be disabled. I also read that some people report that the lever is still down, even in chapter restart-- like the whole game is now corrupted. I'm on a Switch, and I might get success by deleting all the game data and reinstalling and starting again at the very beginning. Evidently this glitch exists on other consoles as well. When I wrote the staff to report the glitch, I got back an email saying: "We're no longer able to update Bendy and the Ink Machine, including addressing any bugs or fixes for the foreseeable future." At least I got an honest answer -- well -- just letting you all know before you buy the game. There are evidently other bugs, but I didn't run into any of them. It just depends on when you decide to quit the game and try to go back in. If you've already bought the game, my advice is this: only quit the game IMMEDIATELY after seeing the Bendy icon appear in the lower right hand corner to let you know that the game is saved. If you're getting tired and want to rest, it's probably best to push through it until you get to the next Bendy icon. Otherwise, when you return, you may very well find yourself STUCK outside of the room with NO WAY back in. (Note: I wouldn't trust the punch clocks on the wall -- they'll make a Bendy icon appear, but they might not reset the settings the way they need to be when you log back in.) Good luck to you all, and watch out for ink monsters! ... show more

  • Love this game!!
Style: Nintendo Switch
I originally bought this game for my 7 year old son along with a switch and some other games for his birthday. Well, after playing it on his switch while waiting on my new switch to come, it turns out that I enjoy it a lot more than he does. He has pretty much lost all interest in it due to the difficulty while I have spent hours with it and am at the end of chapter 4 (unfortunately I have to use his account to play unless I want to start the whole game over..but that's more of a nintendo problem) Love this game and excited for the new Bendy to come out! ... show more

  • Fun & Creepy
Style: PlayStation 4
My 10 year old bought this with his birthday money. This game is very creepy, which he totally loved. It is a puzzle type game, so it makes him use his head, and it isn’t constant fighting, running, jumping etc. When he first got it I had to stay with him in the basement as I think he was a little scared. He loves the game, but it is kind of short. According to my son they are supposed to be adding a few more levels. ... show more
