This aluminum flashing was just what I needed to finish the roof of an earthen shed I have been building for some time now. I was impressed by the thickness of it compared to the flashing I bought at Home Depot. The Home Depot flashing has had a tendency to split in the crease where I bend it but this has not been a problem with this flashing. It is the appropriate gauge for the job and it just adds to my peace of mind when I carrying the flashing up on top the roof and it is solid and sturdy instead of all floppy and flimsy. The price is comparable to what I am used to paying from local big box stores and it was nice that it came in a shorter roll of ten feet instead of the long 25-50 foot rolls they make you buy locally. I only needed 9 feet of flashing and thanks to the short roll I was able to save money and not waste material, which I am very thankful for. The last thing i'll say about this flashing is that it was quite easy to work with. Bending it into a 90 degree drip edge was easier than with the thin gauge stuff because I knew it could take the beating. Meanwhile cutting it also wasn't too hard despite the thick gauge. So all in all id say its the perfect size and gauge for my project. If you have a similar project to mine, or even not, this flashing is a good buy that I have had no complaints about. 5 stars! ... show more

Sometimes I can never think of the interesting things to keep our home in good repair, and this is another good one that my husband mentioned to me. Aluminum flashing is particularly good for repairing the exterior of roofs and even for front porch repair-- which is exactly what my husband used it for! He reported to me that it is thick, though not terribly thick, and it is bendy and does wonders with repairing of our guest cabin area where our friends and family stay with a quick, yet thorough repair on the same area of the guest cabin porch. This is a coil of aluminum flashing. Normally I get 6 or 8 inch but sometimes all you need is a 4 inch strip. I don’t have a bending brake but long ago I learned a trick where you cut out the profile of the flashing bend you need in a piece of plywood, screw it to a bench/board, bend the end of your flashing with pliers to match, then pull the piece through the cut profile and it creates an simple extrusion. This allows you to get pretty good flashing bends on a diy budget. Recently built a couple of roofs over propane tanks and outdoor condensers that need some flashing so this will probably get bent for that. There’s a lot that can be done with the new butyl tape style flashing but sometimes I don’t fully trust it and prefer to have real metal there. Nothing wrong with this roll so if all you need is a rather short length and the price makes sense, then this product should work for you. ... show more

I didn’t get this aluminum flashing to use on a roof, I got it to cut shaped pieces from for a home repair project. The size of this worked for me because I didn’t need wide pieces and buying a large roll of flashing would have been a waste. It was delivered quickly and in good condition, no dents or bends to the metal. This gauge is a little thicker than aluminum flashing I’ve worked with in the past, making it a little harder to cut, but it’s solid and sturdy. If you need to cut, bend or fold the metal for your project you might want to go with a thinner gauge, but this gauge is definitely sturdy and should hold up for a long time. ... show more

It's what you need when you need it. I was going to repair a large hole in the gable on my shed of manufactured wood. I had covered the bottom with two sheets of roof metal last year. I wanted to be done with it and dug out some corrugated plastic board and covered the entire gable. Sun never hits it so it will do. So this is generic rolled flashing that works as expected. The metal is thick enough to hold up to some abuse thrown at it and will work for most requirements. Its about the same as far as structural goes as the big box stores version however it comes with a hefty price tag verse the big box stores version. I can get 25' for the same price as this version from my local big box store. With that i wouldnt advise buying this. If you dont care about price it will work and will work just as well as the big box stores. ... show more
