Features

  • 60W upstream charging allows you to charge your laptop through the dock
  • Compatible with macOS and Windows USB-C laptops (Thunderbolt speeds require Thunderbolt 3 port)
  • Connect multiple devices to your laptop through a single dock, including hard drives, monitors, drawing tablets, mouse, keyboards, internet, and more
  • Ultra-fast data transfer speeds up to 40Gbps (Thunderbolt 3), Connect Dual 4K HD displays @ 60Hz

  • The Belkin Difference: Pioneer in technology and innovation for over 35 years
  • Belkin has been made aware of potential issues relating to external monitors not coming out of sleep mode while connected to 2019-2020 Intel-based MacBook Pro computers using Big Sur version 11.3 (or earlier) through a Thunderbolt 3 Dock docking station. The issue requires a full shut down of the MacBook. We have not seen this issue arise with the M1-based MacBooks, and we are investigating the issue with our technology partners to swiftly resolve it. To reduce instances of the issue ensure your computer is fully out of sleep mode before docking or undocking.

  • This Dock is not fully compatible with MacBook Pro 16inch
Style: Thunderbolt Pro Pattern Name: Cable
I bought this dock instead of the Thunderbolt 3 Express (which Apple recommends) since I thought having the extra USB ports would be nice. Upon installing the dock, I started having problems with my internet connection only to find that my router's WAN connection was being dropped whenever the MacBook Pro would go to sleep. Furthermore, video would not sync properly sometimes forcing me to disconnect and reconnect the cable from the Mac to get it going again. Belkin tech support was less than helpful and kicked me back to Apple. These docks don't have a HUD either, so there is no way to tweak any settings or install new firmware AFAIK. I called Apple, and after trying a few things they recommended re-installing the OS. I didn't feel like doing that so I ordered a Thunderbolt 3 Express Dock. All of the problems went away after installing the Express dock. The only reason I gave this product 2 stars is because it did work flawlessly with my Alienware 17R4 laptop. ... show more

  • Does Not Work with Macbook Pro (2017), Overheats, Drains Power, USBs are Useless
Style: Thunderbolt Pro Pattern Name: Cable
Before buying this, my normal setup is a Macbook Pro 15" (2017) connected to a LG 38UC99 monitor, which powers the Macbook and runs the display. I already had USB hubs and adapters for memory cards, but figured it would be nice to have one device do it all. This Belkin device is either defective or it's not compatible with Macbook Pros. Wish I'd read the review about the 2016 Macbook Pro before ordering. I'm returning mine because: 1- It doesn't charge my Macbook when connected. That completely defeats the purpose of it. This is without anything else connected!! I have the latest macOS installed, and my Macbook charges fine through my LG monitor, so it's not like it's a Macbook issue. 2- The cable that comes with it is super finnicky. I had it connected and then it just gets disconnected randomly, and I have to try various ports on my laptop to get it to work again. 3- The 4 USB ports on the back are slow!!!! These cannot be USB-3.0, no way. They charge slower than any USB I have ever tried! Again, I am assuming I just got a defective product, otherwise, this is horrible. I have other USB hubs/chargers bought from Amazon that are not Belkin, but just other brands, and they are much faster even with USB-2.0. I don't know what's going on with this. 4- It overheats when connecting to my Macbook and LG monitor. I regularly got dialogs on my Macbook saying the hub is overheating and needs to be disconnected - maybe that's why the cable would randomly disconnect? Not sure, but either way, I think it's dangerous how hot it gets, and seems like they really didn't think some things through. tldr; it doesn't do what it claims, even the USB ports are horrible. may be defective or may not be compatible with Macbook Pro. ... show more

  • Just FYI, ethernet is 100 MB not 1 GB
Style: Thunderbolt Mini Pattern Name: Cable
Nice and portable, I've tried a few docks and this one is the best, I'm sticking with it. One thing to note I don't see anywhere in the descriptions, the ethernet port on this is 100 MB/s rather than 1 GB that other docks come with. Doesn't make a big difference to me, I have a USB 3.0 ethernet adapter that is going to be plugged in, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time the ethernet speed. ... show more

  • Poor 16" MacBook Pro Compatibility
Style: Thunderbolt Pro Pattern Name: Cable
This dock has an issue pulling an attached 4K Dell display out of sleep mode when the MacBook is woken up, it never works. I have to unplug and plug back in the DP cable, sometimes multiple times before the monitor will be detected and come out of sleep mode. I have seen this issue documented multiple places so I don't think I have a defective unit, I think there's just a compatibility issue betwen the two devices. If anyone can suggest a TB3 dock that works 100% with waking external displays out of sleep mode, I'm all ears, please drop me a link! Update 7/7/20 — Replaced with a CalDigit TS3Plus and that is the ticket! Works every single time and has a ton of I/O in a compact package. Definitely the best dock on the market for MacBook and highly recommended. ... show more

  • Almost the right product
Style: Thunderbolt Pro Pattern Name: Cable
From reading about these products, I don't believe that the perfect product exists yet. I have a MacBook and an HP Laptop that I plug into this. It allows me to remove just the thunderbolt cable from one notebook and switch it to the other notebook. I have the following plugged in at once: 2 printers external disk drive programmable mouse mechanical keyboard 2 external monitors (not 4K) headphone set SD memory card I have 2 problems. I use a mechanical keyboard where the keys are lit. They cycle in and out of power, but I am always able to type with no issues. It just makes me nervous that something might happen with the power running through my devices. The other problem is that with all of these things plugged in, my laptop does not stay charged. So I wind up plugging in the power cord of my computer, also. Not perfect, but better than having dongles and wires everywhere! ... show more
