    • Works great, superb customer service
First, I need to applaud the seller, ETN Products. About two days after I received my hitch lock I received an unsolicited email from the seller, ETN Products, asking me if I was satisfied with my purchase. I replied to the email explaining a dilemma I was having with the locking mechanism, see the bottom paragraph. The next day, let me repeat, the next day, I received a phone call from the seller about my issue. He guided me through how to resolve it and everything worked great after about 5 minutes. This is OUTSTANDING customer service. The best I have ever received on Amazon. I really like this locking system over the more expensive Hitch Safe system. This system does not have a rubber cover to make it water tight, this system has a 3 inch rubber plug in the back which won't fall off, can't be knocked off and can't be stolen. There is plenty of room inside for my keys, cash and credit cards. Actually, I can also press the rubber plug into my ball mount and use it as a lock box when towing my trailer. I can lock my stuff inside my Jeep, then lock my keys in the hitch lock box, then walk away without worry. Now, about the locking mechanism issue I had to get resolved. When I first tried mine, I had difficulty getting the lock mechanism into the fully locked position and the tumblers would not spin. In order to resolve the issue you need to "break it in" if you will. It's super easy. First, fully unlock the mechanism. Then, insert the hitch pin into the lock slot. Next, hold the lock in one hand and the pin in the other, press really firmly and twist the hitch pin back and forth until it rotates very freely. Like I said, the locking system is great and will definitely fit your needs. Plus, customer service from ETN Products is beyond amazing. I plan to buy several more of these for my truck and my SUV. ... show more

    • Sticks out a bit
The safe sticks out a bit but not too big of a deal for me with the lift on my truck. However this design makes it more compatible than other options with vehicles like my Tundra. The combo lock is good for not bringing any keys with you but I went ahead and used my keyed shank. I can bring the small key for this with me and store my electronic car keys in the vault. ... show more

This works good. I don't leave it on the truck. So, I can't comment on long term use. I only use it for the day at the beach or track and then put it away. It beats carrying around the key fob. Quality is good. I think it's a little pricey. Thus the 3 stars on Value for the money. But, it does work well. ... show more

Best thing about it is that i can lok my car, and when in the hitch the car doesnt recognize the key as close enought to unlock any of my doors. I use this a step also to access my roof rack on my defender. Just don’t forget its there because you will destroy you shin on it. Great product, worth the money ... show more

I love this thing! I use it to stash my keys for mountain biking and skiing securely. This is actually my second one because I lost my first one. Still trying to figure out how I even did lost such a thing, but I did! The lock is easy to use and works great. I had no problem using it in the cold CO winter. I didn’t see any weathering last winter with all the magnesium chloride on my roads. I even use the locking mechanism to lock my dirt bike hauler at the track and trail! Fit in the tow hitch of my 4 Runner. Solid feel. Only negative is that the numbers on the lock were already a bit worn down so after months of driving in weather I would be concerned that it may become unreadable. I sent it back because for car camping the safe sticks out into our work/kitchen area right at shin height. I would recommend this for a surf/dive car as it is a much more secure place to keep keys than a magnetic box. ... show more
