We live in a small house and have several grandchildren that love to be at Grandma's and Grandpa's. I did a lot of research on bunk beds, particularly twin over full w/trundle. I'm SO glad we invested in this one! First of all, it arrived five days early, directly to our front porch. I hired a professional contractor to assemble it, to spare my husband the stress it might cause him. It took the contractor about a total of 10 hours to assemble. He did not have any issues or problems with the bed, other than the instructions were not in the box labeled "instructions". He opened all six boxes before he finally found them. The stairs can be assembled on either the left or the right of the bed, so we were able to have it just the way we wanted. It is a VERY sturdy, well-made bed! There are plenty of safety features, too, like anti-slip strips on the steps and sturdy safety rails. Another feature I love is all the storage space in each of the steps! In a small home, we are always looking for and utilizing creative places to store toys, books, linens, etc. It does not include the mattresses, which we knew, but just want to point out. It is a little more expensive than similar bunk beds out there, but I really believe the price was worth it! I have no doubt this bed will be used for many, many years. Will write additional/update review after a few months+. Beautiful looking bed! The color is fantastic, the wood is gorgeous, but because it is pinewood it is more likely to break. That's just the nature of the wood. Top bunk and the trundle perfectly fit a Twin Mattress, and the Full size bed we had fit snugly into the bottom bunk. Most of the pieces came without blemish. There were a few that had dings or little indents but they aren't deal breakers for a person like me. There were 2 quite important pieces that both broke in the process of delivery. I wish Amazon would write "Fragile" on these boxes due to the ease of breaking (as mentioned before). My husband works for UPS so I know that if it says fragile they do try to be more careful. I will write about my return process after the bed setup process. We got the actual bunkbed up with 2 people in about 4 hours total (not including the staircase). Not the easiest but not terrible. We weren't able to put up the staircase as 2 very important pieces broke. Still waiting on the replacement pieces to build the staircase. This bunkbed is huge!! Will look much better in a larger room but is fantastic even in a smaller room you just won't have too much space left over. Our kids room is a decent size for a smaller home so there's still a little more than half the room to play or move around in but it definitely is big! We checked the instructions to return the pieces and get a replacement as we saw others mention they got their replacement pieces within a week of requesting it. Well I sent those 2 pieces back via UPS the same week and checked the tracker. Tracker said it arrived to the Arizona Amizon location just a few days later, March 27th. I waited and waited for something to happen or to just get the pieces but I only saw that it said "we are waiting on your return" I finally called 2 weeks later and the guy said to wait 2 more weeks... flustered and irritated I waited as asked. Nothing happened. The remark "waiting for your return" still showed. I even waited an extra week just in case but nothing. So I finally called again yesterday and it wasn't until I got upset over the phone (I tried to be very polite and understanding at first but the lady kept asking dumb questions) that they finally got me to the department in charge of large packages that they the guy simply said "I'm sending your replacement today at no extra charge. Is there anything else I can do for you?" I'm sorry but why would you charge me for something that you already got back???? Anyway it's in the mail now. Should arrive in a couple more days, and they are still asking me to send a return. So I'm sending back the box with the printed proof of the return of the original pieces inside. I bought this bunk bed for the grand babies to have a nice place to sleep when they come to visit. Super sturdy bed and looks really good in the space. It is large but no larger than the space a Queen size bed takes up. Accommodates 4 people comfortably. The step/drawer space gives them plenty of room to store their clothes while they are here. Pretty simple to put together but does take a bit of time. I'm a 53 year old grandma and put mine together by myself but it took about 24 hours. Of course you will need one other person to help lift the top bunk onto the bottom bed frame. Boxes are marked so you know which ones the directions and hardware are in. I used 9" hybrid mattresses and I would not recommend going higher than that or the trundle bed will not fit underneath the full size bed. Update: finally got ahold of seller who immediately sent trundle side rail. I have updated my review. Very brittle wood. Trundle is now useless. Amazon says it’s a seller issue but when I click contact seller the Amazon chat bot pops back up. I need a new 03 trundle side piece.

When delivered it came in 6 boxes. Read the labels on outside of box to tell you what’s inside of them and for finding the instructions. We literally put all the pieces down the hall wall/room in numerical order. Unboxing and organizing took awhile (around 3 hours) but we did this to make sure we had all the parts. Then the assembly began. We slowly put it together and still have to assemble the trundle. For the stairs, you have the options of installing them on either side of bunk beds! Nice feature! Also, the side of stairs is open due little cubbies/ storage. The stairs have drawers inside for even more storage. Structure is sturdy and quality is great! Overall, we love it, the only downside is the amount of time it takes to install so give yourself plenty of time! ... show more
