The mattress is so much softer than the flimsy thing that came with the bassinet. It did have a slight odor but after 30 minutes within opening the smell was gone. My baby will finally sleep in the bassinet for extended stretches at night. I would make this purchase again.

Opened this up and was so impressed by the quality and comfort of the mattress. Unfortunately, my pregnancy brain didn't see the "Mini" part of the name and description so I had to return it and was so sad! It seems like a great option for mini cribs!

The mattress arrived rolled very tightly in box, and it was a little difficult to remove. While the instructions state it may take 72 hours to expand up to size after removing the plastic cover, in our case it fluffed up and stopped expanding in less than 24 hours. The description states the mattress is 1.5 inches thick, however, this is only true if a measurement is made while both included mattress covers are on the mattress. The foam portion of the mattress itself is only 1.34 inches (34 mm). We do not know what the convention is here, or the expectation on how to measure and report mattress thickness. As the mattress comes with the covers included and installed, we find this acceptable. While the mattress is made up of two laminated foams of different color and thickness, the foam layers are hardly thick enough to feel a difference in the density as intended and described. It is there, but very subtle. You would need to be the judge of this. The 38 in x 26 in mattress fit perfectly in our Graco Pack 'n Play "Playard". If you will note, there are two mattress covers included. The outside washable cover (pad) is soft, well made, attractive, and has a high quality zipper. The inner cover is very fine, soft material, with a much smaller zipper and seems well made as well. The mattress is very soft and flexible and will make it easy to transport with the Pack 'n Play. ... show more

I got this memory foam bassinet mattress for something completely different than its intended purpose. I had recently purchased a second-hand storage ottoman that I planned to spruce up and reupholster to match my couch. It was cheap and the perfect size, but uncomfortable to sit on. The padding was so worn down you could feel the wooden frame around the edges. I looked into upholstery foam, but had a feeling it wouldn’t be enough unless I piled it on, adding too much height. I decided on memory foam as a base, and that’s when I came across this bassinet mattress that just so happened to be the perfect size for my rectangular ottoman! The mattress consists of two layers; high density foam, and cooling gel foam, so one side is firmer than the other. Just this alone was enough to cushion against the wood frame even when I tested it on my knees. Unlike a lot of mattresses, it comes with a waterproof cover and a hypoallergenic bamboo cover that can be removed for cleaning. This wasn’t a necessity for my off-label use, but it adds a lot to this product’s value as a bassinet mattress, as purchasing a waterproof mattress cover separately can often be expensive. For a mattress measuring 35” x 20” x 1.5”, the $45.99 price tag seems average for a good quality bassinet mattress, and perhaps too expensive for my purposes, but when I added up the cost of the ottoman and the materials I used to restore it, it was still a small fraction of the cost to buy the ottoman that goes with my couch or others like it, so it definitely has value as added cushioning to chairs, ottomans, and other furniture projects. ... show more
