Alongside her was Cheshire, her very first demon, possessing Cereza’s stuffed toy. Play as both Cereza and Cheshire and search through the treacherous forest to look for the power to save Cereza’s mother. • What Cozy Gamer Dreams Are Made Of!!!
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Cereza and the Lost Demon
I'll preface this that I've never played a Bayonetta game before this one but it is absolutely playable without any knowledge and honesty makes me want to know more of her story after playing through it. Cereza and the Lost Demon is a puzzle platform game that honesty gives Alice the Madness Returns and Madoka Magica vibes. The artstyle is unique and gorgeous on the switch and I really liked the storybook cut-scenes. I even liked the game enough to 100% is which I NEVER do, but it keeps you motivated to rescue each of the spirits from the faeries and look for the journals to just be able to read more of the lore and stay immersed in the environment. Definitely try the demo if you are on the fence, but the game is fantastic! ... show more

  • A Surprisingly COZY Spin-off from a BOMBASSTIC Franchise.
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Cereza and the Lost Demon
This game's storybook aesthetic & theming is BEAUTIFULLY realized. The gameplay is more puzzle- solving for traversal focused & combat more spaced apart . This gives the experience relaxing, chill vibe compared to the mainline games. Also, since Cereza is a pre-teen, the M-rated themes are absent, here. This has turned-off some of the fan base - but, has drawn-in others who have never even touched the franchise. The bottom line? I find this game to be ADORABLE & was money well spent. 👧🏻🧸👹 ... show more

  • Way better than I even imagined.
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Cereza and the Lost Demon
This seemed at first like a fun little indie side story. I was mistaken. This game was great in every way. The complexity of battle is based more around managing two characters synergizing than combo looping. Exploration is decent, traversal creative, and art style and story delivery are fantastic. Glad to have one more solid and presumably last story featuring Cereza, considering Bayonetta 3's end. Great game. ... show more

  • lovely aesthetic and idea for a game that's held slightly back
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Cereza and the Lost Demon
After the bitter pill that was Bayonetta 3's writing, I was very hesitant on buying this but the growing word of mouth about the game and the beautiful art style was strong enough to get me to buy. For starters, this is (ironically) the best written Bayonetta game. Easily. Not that the series has ever been Shakespearean but Bayonetta Origins, while a little tropey at times imo, is an enjoyable story that focuses highly on character building in order to show us the young, vulnerable girl behind the witch we all know and love. I highly enjoyed this look into Cereza's past and hope that Platinum gets a chance to show more of her life, training, friendship with Jeanne, etc, in the future. It is also a beautiful and meaty game - seeing how big the map is instantly makes the 'it should've been $20' takes look a bit silly. But speaking of the map - it's one of my negatives. It's kind of confusing to navigate at times such as when I was trying to find something and couldn't tell if the thing was above or below me. The gameplay is serviceable - I had mixed feelings controlling two characters on two different joy cons but I appreciated the wide selection of accessibility options to make the process more streamlined for those who need (or just want) it. Overall, if you're fan of the series then it's definitely worth the buy - there's some absolutely wonderful references and fanservices that long term fans will eat up. ... show more

  • Unexpectedly amazing
Platform For Display: Nintendo Switch Edition: Cereza and the Lost Demon
Gameplay is straight forward but when you combine theses characters there are fun combos to be had. Magically fits in well into the Bayonetta universe and delivers great visuals and ab expertly crafted story that almost redeems the low points of Bayonetta 3. I hope we see more of this series and that we see some of it's elements in the mainline Bayonetta series ... show more

This game is slower paced and has beautiful artwork. It fits my fall cozy game vibe and the price here for the physical copy is cheaper than anywhere else and the digital version.
