I ordered two sets of the gold and white shelves. I was very impressed with the quality of the wood and metal brackets. Flawless, nicer packaged and very sturdy! And I loved the fact that there were different ways to build the shelves. They look amazing on the wall! I would totally order from this company again. The only down fall is that the screws, both sizes of them, were black. And since the screws will show, it was going to be very obvious and very ugly with black screws against gold metal. Luckily I had some gold spray paint on hand and painted the screws before hand. Doing that made the screws blend in with the gold brackets perfectly. While I would order again for the quality, just be prepared for mismatched hardware. If it weren’t for that, this would be a 5 star review and a perfect product. ... show more

Seller contacted me after my initial review. I sent them photo's and they are shipping me another set free of charge. I gave it 5 stars because of the excellent customer service. If the next shipment is nothing but satisfactory I will update again. 2 of the shelfs are not finished properly, only one shelf has a nice smooth satin finish the other 2 are rough and look like they were spray painted and very poorly at that. If I could I would return. But they don't offer free UPS home pick up for returns. ... show more

Wish I could rate these higher. The overall design of these shelves are great, I love the versatility with how you can hang them (bookends, upright, floating). The problem is that it's kind of a double-edged sword. The wood doesn't come with pre-drilled holes to help guide you, so there's larger room for error when putting the pieces together. My biggest complaint however is the quality of the wood. All three pieces came with zero finish, or at least it FEELS like there's zero finish on them. They're all rough pieces of wood that don't feel sanded down at all, almost like balsa. The wood is probably this way to make it easier to install, all you need is a simple screwdriver to put everything together (you'll need a drill for putting it on the wall though). I also followed the instructions of another commenter (Honest Teej) because I was mounting into drywall. I opted to buy my own drywall anchors (I got the 15lb limit ones) and used those instead of the ones provided. I can confirm the instructions DO specify that plaster walls will not hold weight as well as wood or concrete so PLEASE USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Thankfully, I got these shelves for knickknacks and plastic figures, so weight is mostly a non-issue for my case. All the same, I recommend at least getting the mounts that are appropriate for your walls rather than taking a gamble with the ones provided. All in all, after mounting one of the shelves I am happy with my purchase but to an extent. I wish that the wood of the shelves were higher quality for what you're paying (especially $40 at full price) but they still get the job done after some fiddling. ... show more
