    • It really keeps the heat out
If you own a Tesla Y, you know that the sun can make the cabin very hot, especially during the summer months. This Tesla Y overhead sun shade is a great way to keep the heat out and the sunlight from coming through anywhere. It is made of high-quality materials and is very easy to install. The chip has to push into the frame at 90 degree angle then twist so it won’t pop out. The frame is sturdy. It fits perfectly over the front windshield and side windows, and it does a great job of blocking out the sun. I highly recommend this product to anyone who owns a Tesla Y. Here are some of the pros and cons of this product: Pros: Keeps the heat out and the sunlight from coming through anywhere Made of high-quality materials Easy to install Fits perfectly over the front windshield and side windows Blocks out 99% of harmful UV rays Reduces glare and heat Improves visibility Protects your interior from fading and cracking Cons: Can be a bit pricey May not be wise to use in very cool climates when you want the sun to heat the cabin It’s not meant to be used like a windshield shade which removes and installs in seconds Overall, I think this is a great product and I would highly recommend it to anyone who owns a Tesla Y. Reflector panels (2) not identified as to which of the cloth panels they must mount onto, panels are 2 different sizes and orientation matters!! Front and rear panels are different sizes!! Supplied clips worked well and hold panels in proper places and some minor sag but not bad at all!! Product installed well (must watch You Tube video on how to install)! Absolutely NO EXCUSE for not including install instructions and directions, but workmanship seemed to be OK and panels look great installed and makes a Major REDUCTION in heat thru glass!! My daughter while sitting in the car DID NOT NOTICE they were installed!! The black panels perfectly match the black interior!! Ample number of mounting clips were supplied and they are simple to install and hold panels very well! Drove around after install with windows fully open and wind caused “flapping” noise was almost nonexistent and was not at all objectionable when it did happen, which was seldom. So far I am very pleased with this product! Performs as advertised!! Reflector panels seem very substantial and block sun light and HEAT!! Black cover material is thin and light. Up until recently my car was parked in my garage or covered parking all day. With a job change, I now drive more during the day and often need to park outside in the sun. Even in 110+ degree temperatures, when I put my hand up near/on the sunshades, I feel no heat coming through. Amazing! Driving is much more comfortable now. I do miss seeing the sun and sky through the roof, so they'll come down in the winter. The reason I only gave a 4 rather than a 5 as easy to install, was not so much due to the sunshades themselves, but the they gymnastics I needed to do in the car to get myself and the sunshade into position to install. I found moving the seats around helped to give me more room to maneuver. I am fairly petite, which helped; I could see a larger person having more difficulty. That being said, I think it would have been MUCH easier with a second person. The only sunshade piece that made it difficult to install was the clips. They're great once the sunshade is in place, but they did not fit snug enough to keep from falling of if I accidentally bumped the clips while trying to position the sunshade. I'm open to this being user error on my part...maybe someone else can respond with how they avoided this. My last comment is it doesn't come with instructions so watch for the video they send you in an e-mail. Very helpful. ... show more

    • Gives shade - does NOT keep temperature down in the car

Ordered this product based on the encouraging reviews on Amazon. We live in Southern California and I was looking for a way to keep the inside of the car to a lower temperature. At work the car is sitting in the blistering sun and based on the reviews I was hoping to keep the temperature lower. After several days of testing I can state that the product does not help. Installing the mesh with or without the reflective silver liner - no change The only observation I can state - delay in temperature rise in the car. Noteworthy with the silver liner installed the front shade starts hanging down in the center area On the actual product quality and fit for what I received Overall the quality of the materials is acceptable Fit onto my 2020 Model 3 - front cover fits perfectly and stays in place with no problems Back Cover definitely needs some work, slides down or falls down. Definitely a bit too long to look good while installed. Three of the install clips came damaged in the in the bag - unusable For this reason I was never able to install both shades at the same time while driving. Only when parked to see if it makes a difference for the heat rise in the car. Wondering where you can buy additional clips or if you need to return for replacement Last but not least would I purchase again - probably not because the benefits are minimal. This is a must have product for Model Y as this shade cuts the heat from glass down, strong and stable. Blends with internal color and makes it look OEM. I would highly recommend the product for any Model Y user.

    • Effective but difficult installation

The inside of my Tesla was warm in the hot day although I turned on the AC. This roof cover effectively blocked the heat from the glass roof. This cover has good quality however the frame is hard so the installation is difficult, and the fit is not perfect.
