Now I don't plan to use this for baseball or softball or anything like that. This is a self-defense item that sits by our nightstand in the bedroom. I just wanted something lightweight easy to grab that was non-fatal for any kind of "situations" that might occur in our new Urban neighborhood. I have other items that I can use when necessary, but again looking for something that both my wife and I could easily handle. I love that it's black so it sort of just fades into the background but it's easy to see and grab. I may take it to the batting cage just to try it out as an actual bat and then I'll update my review, but from what I see now it's really lightweight comfortable to hold has a nice smooth texture and really classic black look. My wife likes to keep this little guy next to her bedside. It makes her feel more comfortable when I am not home. So if it makes my wife feel secure. It makes me happy & feel better. Let me start with I got this bat for my mother who wanted it for self defense from the animals that live in the neighborhood. It is really lightweight and small enough that it fit in any corner. I had to add a little more grip tape so that she could hold it better. The handle is quite thin and requires a little extra tape so that it doesn't go flying out of your hands when you swing it. I bought this bat so my 6 year grandson could hit some baseballs that I would slow pitch to him. He hit several and the bat immediately gave out and dented in several spots. This bat is falsely advertised to be used for baseball. Wrong! This thing is a POS. It is not durable or sturdy at all, and immediately distorts and dents with contact with a baseball. You can see this on the pictures. To add insult to injury, I asked to return this for a refund which required me to drive to a UPS store. Once there I was informed that I had to pack the bat. The box was long gone, and I am not going to buy a box, so I chalk this up as a loss. Lighter and noticeably shorter than an average adult bat, which potentially makes this better for other uses like self defense as seems to be its primary target niche. I had/have a regular bat for that use, but honestly it’s kinda long for my home’s narrow hallways, and the swing weight allows for a solid first swing but takes a decent amount of effort to pull back for subsequent swing(s). A shorter lighter bat like this addresses those downsides. Completely ninja black, with a finish that’s not quite matte but more eggshell. I like that there’s no branding/logos/anything. This bat is mediocre and would be alright for introducing baseball to children. Lightweight so it can mess with your swing if you have ever played ball for any length of time. The grip is comfortable; however, I dont give lots of credit to its durability. It would make a heck of a bat in the invent you needed it for self defense because not everyone uses a bat for the game.
