I know these are supposed to be some kind of stand to put your stuff on but I needed boxes made in wood so what I saw these I knew they would work perfectly. With that said yes they are hollow so you turn them upside down and they actually become boxes you can put stuff in. I'm always needing a box to toss stuff into to get it out of the way or whatever. So these are perfect for that and if you have an imagination you can make them into almost anything. I was worried that the stain would rub off on your hands but it does not. Excited to have these three wooded risers for displaying food on my credenza during parties. Love the rustic look and dark stain. PROS • Visually very pleasing • Fit inside each other for easy storage (bubble-wrapped between) • Various sizes will look nice next to one another CONS • Small scratch/imperfections in the wood (will likely be covered by plates/food so it won't matter much - but makes me a little worried about wear and tear) • Super lightweight (so light it feels like styrofoam covered by wood?) so I imagine these will need to be treated carefully. ... show more
