  • Decent
Style: 10x42 Color: Camo
I bought these for hunting and very clear vision, great vision, only downfall is they didn't collect enough light going into the evening hours before dusk and that's very important when hunting.

  • Good for the price!
Style: 10x42 Color: Black
I bought these 10x42 roof prisms to keep in the truck for work. The twist retractable eye cups are perfect. The exit pupil is quite large and without my glasses the field of view is great. With glasses and the cups turned in the down position I do have a little difficulty holding them in the exact spot where bifocals work but once I find the spot there's no problem. The focus knob is smooth and firm but the ocular adjustment for correction is a bit difficult to turn, however once you set it you don't have to worry about it getting bumped out of mis-adjustment. The outside rubber finish is very grippy and overall the the unit is what I would describe as tight, not loose or flimsy. The carry case is sufficient, being heavy rip stop black nylon with an included zip pouch in the flap for the snap on objective side lens caps. The single rubber molded ocular cap which can be attached to the rather flimsy neck strap (which I may discard for a better strap) is great when you just stand them up. The weight is a bit less, in ounces, compared to a pair of 10x60 porro prisms I also own, which is a plus. These are not Leica or high end binoculars from the lens quality standpoint but for the price and the build I am very pleased. At 300 yards in low evening light they're sufficient. In bright sunlight at that distance their great. Would be ideal for sporting events. At 100 yards it's crisp and clear. Once adjusted, color, parallax and crispness are fabulous at 100 yards. ... show more

  • Almost perfect for me
Style: 10x42 Color: Black
They're bigger than they look in the picture. Would help to find the size specs listed and measure that out to imagine them. I find them a good size that will be fairly utilitarian for most uses. I plan to take them mostly on hiking trips to view landscapes, do some birding, and also some sports games from the nosebleeds. It is sealed, nitrogen purged, fogproof/waterproof so I expect them to hold up in bad weather. They're also heavier than they look. They feel really rugged encased in the grippy textured rubber. They ought to take a beating. The optics are fantastic. Everything is bright and clear and the zoom brings pretty distant signs into readable view. Only two negatives I found were that the rubber eye caps for the back of the binoculars have no realistic way of attaching. They're just sort of there, like they're going to fall off. Keeping these in their case should prevent them from falling off. Secondly, being used to SLR lens caps and how exactly/snugly they fit, it's a similar story to the lens caps on the front of these binoculars in that they don't snap on with authority. I doubt they'll come off, but they don't feel as secure as they should. Overall I am very happy and do recommend them. They're pretty sick. ... show more

  • Great quality at a decent price.
Style: 12x42 Color: Camo
This is a great set of binoculars. I have used ones way more costly than these and I can tell you that this pair is just as good as any others. A pleasure to use, easy to adjust and operate, comes with a nice carry case and a strap for both the case and the binoculars, as well as a lens cleaning cloth, a nice touch, that can be stored in the mesh pocket of the carry case. Comes with lens guards to put in place when not using and they are anti-fogging lenses...which do NOT work well when coming out of an air-conditioned house into the high humidity outdoors, but after they adjust, they will not fog up again, at least in my experience. ... show more

  • Problems....
Style: 10x42 Color: Black
This is nice set of binoculars for the price. Not small, buy smaller that most fill sized sets. The lenses are bright and sharp. The knobs are a bit sticky, but that might loosen up over time. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. Two issues: The first set I got had one flawed side. The left was sharp as a tack, but the right had ghosting and would not focus sharply. If you buy a set, I'd check them carefully. Amazon replaced them quickly with the new set. The second complaint is more amusing than anything. The case for the binoculars has a zippered pouch on the inside flap. I was going to put the pouch strap in it. However, someone sewed the zipper so that the mesh pocket is sewn shut (see picture). You can open the zipper, but it opens nothing. How brainless can assembly people be? UPDATE!!!!! I took my second set camping with me last week and a few of the people with me tried to use them. No one could adjust the binoculars to get a single image (and yes, I did have the eyecups extended). I told them I could and got them adjusted to my eyes when someone said "Let me try something". He covered the left lens and the image didn't change. He then uncovered the left and covered the right and the image went black. So, my dominate right eye was simply taking over. I could never really get a single site picture using both eyes (no one could). I don't know if this is a problem with this single unit or a design flaw, but I did send them back. Too bad, they could be a really nice set. ... show more

  • Also broke after little use...
Style: 10x42 Color: Black
I'm very impressed with these. They are heavy duty and rugged. Took very little adjusting to see through them clearly right out of the box. They also come with a soft storage case and two sets of straps, one for the binos and one of the case. The binos also include cover for both the front lens and rear lens. Another good quality product from Barska. **Update, the product has been used very few times. It turns out that one of the lenses popped out just as it did with other users here. I've taken them with me a few times on vacation and they are barely used. I am surprised that they broke so easily. Not recommended. ... show more
