Description

Barbie Color Reveal dolls deliver an unboxing experience full of surprises -- seven of them! A doll with a colorful mermaid tail is guaranteed, but each doll's look remains a mystery until revealed. The packaging is part of the fun -- pull the strip to remove the outer layer and reveal a clear tube. Inside are a Color Reveal mermaid doll, whose full look is hidden behind the metallic blue rainbow-print coating, and four bags with surprises. Remove everything and fill the tube with warm water, then insert the doll and swirl around. The water turns a shimmery sea blue, and when the doll is pulled out, their features are revealed! Each mermaid doll represents a different color of the rainbow with long hair and a pattern on the tail, but the surprises continue…open the bags to discover a fin, wrist cuffs, crown and sponge-comb accessory. So I went looking for mer-toys for my niece(s); and bought three of these mystery toys; from Amazon for $11.99 I was hoping to receive one or two merman; but no such luck. Instead, I received three cylinders; with lid codes from last year; which told me; without opening anything; that Amazon had sent me a Red mermaid, a Pink mermaid and a purple mermaid 🧜♀️. So I went shopping at different local stores; and finally found 2 mermen at a pricy T E T O N toy store. I knew I had finally found some mermen because.... 1) the lid codes, when lined up read... 0032HF..... Red mermaid 0042HF..... Pink mermaid 0052HF..... Yellow mermaid 0062HF..... green/blue mermaid 0072HF..... purple mermaid 🧜♀️ 0082HF..... Merman 2) When I asked a young worker, if he had any more in the storage room; he said yes; and brought out a new box 📦 with the exact same toy lid codes 0032HF - 0082HF. 3) The mermaids 🧜♀️ have a small green packet; in their colorful cylinders; that most of the time you can see; through the bottom of the cylinder plastic. The green packet holds the mermaid's crown 👑/ tiara. I opened one cylinder; I bought from W A L M A R T; only to find the green packet hiding at the very top. Placing the un-ripped packet near a light; I saw the mermaid cylinder I had opened must be a pink African one. The merman has NO green packet; instead, he has a big pink packet; that hides his bronze chest plate. 4) At home I have a small kitchen scale ⚖ that measures fluid ounces and grams. The 12 inch Pink mermaid weighes the lightest 233 - 236 grams; because she has the shortest doll hair. One cylinder had cardboard in it; the other didn't. The yellow mermaid weighed 239 grams; unopened; so I returned her. The purple mermaid weighes 240 grams. The Red mermaid weighes 242 grams. And one of the Mermen I opened weighed 250 grams; before I broke his wrapping. The other merman cylinder has the exact same lid code and also weighes 250 grams, unopened. Another set of lid codes I came acrossed were... 3541HF....Red mermaid 3551HF....Pink mermaid I mistakenly opened; thinking it was a merman. 3561HF....yellow mermaid 239 grams, that I returned unopened. 3571HF.... blue/green mermaid 3581HF....purple mermaid 3591HF.... would have been the merman; had I found this lid code number. Do you see the pattern in each group of six? Ignore the first number. Ignore the last number. Focus on the two MIDDLE numbers.... 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59 So because the young worker; at T E T O N toys; brought me out a new box 📦; with all six different toys inside; it seems like all the Amazon workers would have to do is... When first opening a new box 📦 quickly label 🏷 the dolls with yellow freezer tape on the bottom of each cylinder. Then on the web page the customer could buy the dolls they wanted. When doing the water reveal, another reviewer warned not to put the doll's hair in the silver paint water. Use very warm water to reveal the doll's true colored tail, in the silver paint water. To get other symbols to appear on their arms later; you have to use ice 🧊 cubes; or ice 🧊 water. I would recommend keeping the plastic jar the toy comes in; so your child can dip the toy in icy jar water; then warm bath water when they want to. The merman's head is adjustable. And you can remove his fin; to help drain bath/ or pool water out of the toy quicker. Overall, nice toys. ... show more

These are quite neat and wish they had more of this when I was a child. Ordered two for my Little Girl of this new series. Bought one other one before from the previous series and she gotten the blue mermaid. This time, we did the color reveal in the tub for the two received. And ended up with two of the same color, lol. What are the odds of that! Two purple star print mermaids. So I told her they are twins, and she just loves them all the same as she then insists I play with one and she with the other. Just more fun❣️ I think it would be additionaly fun if I can help get her the complete set ☺️ Either way, bath time is even more fun for her. Especially when the temperature differences cause the stars to appear or disappear on the arms and bra. ... show more
