    • One of the better fantasy themed Barbie Advent calendars!
I usually don’t purchase the fairytale themed encounters for Barbie, but this year‘s offering looked quite different from previous ones in the past so I wanted to check it out for myself if it was better than the previous offerings. This is beautifully packaged with bright colors and beautiful artwork featuring some of the items that are in the advent calendar itself, with 24 perforated doors for each day of the calendar. Parents, before starting the advent calendar with your child I recommend removing the contents poster in the back so the child doesn’t have any clue of what’s inside of it. The Barbie doll that’s included is really pretty, With thickly rooted, long pink saran hair. A sculpted bodice that features stars clouds and rainbows in a purple to blue gradient. Right out of the box, she comes in a satin skirt with holographic sparkles that features butterfly stars and flower graphics that are printed very well, and to my surprise, her skirt is pretty big for being a princess skirt for these dolls. normally the entry price point that the line are usually smaller and width with the skirts so that’s a plus for me. Another thing that I appreciate with the set is all the mix and match accessories and clothing, giving kids lots of options for storytelling and creating their own personalized look beyond the artwork shown in the packaging. It also comes with four pet friends that includes a unicorn, a phoenix from what I can tell a seahorse and her dog Honey in a purple color scheme. You also get a seashell shaped comb with a gift box that you can store easily all the smaller accessories and even some of the clothing items, and there’s even some details inside the box that can be a little house for the pets to hang out in. And lastly, you also get a charm bracelet that child can wear with two different charms, ones, the starfish and the other one is heart shaped locket that has the Barbie logo on the front and on the inside has Honey. I personally think this is a great advent calendar set if your kid is into fairytale themed toys, And it may be a good introduction to fashion play with all the cute accessory pieces that kids can make and match with. This is for the holiday season, but anyone can make an activity out of an Avent calendar so if you know somebody that will be interested in it and want to get it to them, I highly recommended this set. ... show more

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas, well she ended up opening it for an October Advent Calendar. The quality of the items inside is perfect. True Babie items. I will say that the box overall was very easy to tear and she ended up opening more squares because the opening was flimsy.

I think the only real issue I had with this advent calendar was because I was hoping it would be a little bit better of a value. I loved the barbie, the tiny pony and the accessories I did they are solidly cute. And definitely like that every matches and compliments each other but I was hoping for more or bigger accessories. Both of my girls have done Barbie advent calendars before. They are a lot of fun, and they are good quality. The main thing you get is a Barbie! Then you get a lot of accessories that go with the Barbie. Some are bigger likes clothing and some are smaller like jewelry. This should be for a kid who is old enough to play with Barbie and the little accessories. This advent is really cute, because it is mermaid/unicorn/fairy themed, so a lot of kids will like it. It comes with some really cute little pets, including a little unicorn. You open the doll first and then get the other things the following days. Advent calendars are typically used to lead up to Christmas. This isn't Christmas themed, but a lot of Advent calendars aren't, and we have never had a Christmas themed Barbie advent. I ordered this advent calendar for my 5 year old. It comes with a barbie and 24 items to open. In all it has three outfits and all the accessories including jewelry and a pony. i got this for my daughters because they love barbie as well as blind bag type stuff. this is both! it says advent calendar but it's really just a blind bag style item. the doors holding the items are numbered and it was fun to open them all and see all the accessories. the different outfits were really cute. my daughters liked the princess vibe the best. although the pets were a close second for favorite part of the set. i like that each style has a complete outfit including signature necklace and shoes or, for the mermaid, a tail. the accessories are good quality and not cheap afterthoughts. i would definitely recommend this as its a great set for the price. ... show more

This doll is our daughter's first Barbie and this calendar is a fun way to introduce her to the doll with so many change-ups and accessories. The advent calendar might work well for Xmas, but we're using it as a good behavior reward calendar, she gets to open a new door every day if she's been good that day. She loves the idea and it's incentivizing her to be on her best behavior so it's a win-win for us. The doll is a pink-haired Barbie with accessories that turn her into a mermaid, fairy and her usual Barbie dress.
