Absolutely love this! I was hesitant to purchase due to reviews regarding shelving not even. The key is to adjust rope on top! It's a rather simple technique (no need to untie knots to adjust) I decided I liked it better with the bottom ropes knotted instead of hanging. Also, the hooks they give you, are not 'long' enough to hang from wall (the shelving will fall forward with this type of hook) I happen to have a curtain road bracket on hand and used that instead. PERFECT length. AND the best part, for every purchase they make, they plant a bamboo tree!! The media could not be loaded. These shelves seem very sturdy, with one caveat, they need to be secured beyond hanging them from the wall. I followed the suggestion of a reviewer below to install a rod on the wall held by hooks that could go into studs. This makes for perfect spacing as the shelves are roughly 14” wide so the fit between the hooks well. But after installing them, I was fussing with something on the top shelf and the wood below pitched forward and everything fell and smashed. This is when I realized I think it’s best to either put a nail or screw through the rope somewhere along the wall, to keep the shelves from pitching or coming out of level as you reach for things - assuming you plan on actually using these shelves. I don’t feel any concern about the rope/wood combo holding the weight, they’re really sturdy. The color was definitely darker than I’d anticipated which was a little disappointing, I’m still considering white washing them but will live with them like this for a while before getting into that. In short, it pays to install these into studs AND go a step beyond with additional securing. Those little ikea tip brackets come to mind 🧐 ... show more

What else can you ask for? And at a great price. I plan to buy another for the other room. I also got the single shelf version and really like too. Definitely recommend to add a cute boho touch to a room. I was too lazy to get out the drill and use the anchors so I just screwed the hooks into the wall and so far no problem supporting plants, a few books, and 2 candles. ... show more

Overall I think this is a really good shelf but not if you have cats or my unlucky guy. I can’t return it cause it’s past the time and plan on giving to donation center because of what happened today but my cat got on it and I’m not sure what exactly happened but the rope I think got caught on his collar. Luckily he is all good and I was home but it’s not worth the worry besides that it’s a great shelf and is extremely sturdy.
